Doesn't stay connected

Good product. I would have given it four stars, but every time I go to use it, I have to reconnect to my Wi-Fi network. This does not happen with my Apple TV, or any other of my Wi-Fi devices. It should be an easy fix, but Roku hasn't yet.

Absolutely Worth the Money

We bought the Roku 3 about 6 months ago to facilitate in the replacement of our cable television service. Prior to purchasing the Roku, we were connecting laptops to the television via HDMI cord. Honestly, I thought that experience was fine. However, the video quality was less than it could have been, and dependence on streaming through a browser was a hindrance. That all changed when we got the Roku 3. Seriously, we had it connected and setup within 3 minutes of unboxing it. We connected it right away to our Netflix, HuluPlus and Pandora accounts, and we have never looked back. The interface is pretty darn easy to use, and the video quality is awesome. Seriously, 1080P? Yeah. It's awesome. Add in the fact that you can get an app to turn your smartphone into a remote control, and it's just a very complete, well-thought-out experience. Maybe your experience is different, but mine has been nothing but positive.

Absolutely Fantastic!

The difference between the new Roku3 and my older Roku XD is honestly like night and day. With the XD it would take a painfully long time for a streamed movie or tv show to load, and then it would buffer quite often, my internet speed is 30 megs so this wasn't the problem. The new Roku 3 is very fast extremely the load times. Most of the time when I see the bar slider come on the screen the movie starts playing. In the few months that I've had the Roku 3 I have yet to see it stop and buffer, never. The improved menu and search system is really fantastic. I'm sure there will be tweaks and improvements in time but this is going to be very hard to beat!

More features and faster

I love my Roku 3!!! I have HDR cable boxes, Xbox 360, PC, iPad. I prefer to use the Roku 3 because it is easy and fast. I can search for movies or shows across multiple services and find what I am looking for in a few seconds rather than going into each application and searching. The general and specific application searches are faster on the Roku than on my other appliances. The only thing that I would like to see is support of additional services like Cinema Now, Showtime Anytime, Max Go, etc.

Fits the bill

Love the radio reception control (freeing me of having to point at the unit within a short distance) and audio via earbuds. My husband heads to bed early. With this ungraded model I have the control handy and can wander the living room and kitchen without trailing a long headphone wire. I had to devise my own body-clip and that was easy, but it seems a clip should be included in a $100 system. The speed for download and rewinds is exceptional over the earlier units. I like the seven-second repeat, but this would be more useful for missed dialogue or action if it could be extended. The only con I've found is that the system can sometimes freeze and I have to unplug the base in order to reset.

+Best ROKU device yert

We use this to access Amazon videos and Vudu videos. With tjhis device we don't have to sign up for the HBO, TMC channels monthly which are a waste of time and money. This is our third Roku device and each one is better than the previous model. This ROKU 3 is easy to set up, very fast and if you're a baby boomer you will absolutely love the headphone jack in the remote. You can watch tv series and movies without waking the whole house.
