I have been building connected media devices for about 10 years now and have used them all. MythTV, Freevo, Elisa, MooVida, XBMC, Boxee Box, Popcorn Hour, etc. and this comes the closest to what I am looking for. 1) Small 2) Easy setup 3) Wireless listening 4) Very nice apps for Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, HBO GO The things that are missing 1) Native streaming of local content. I do get around this with Plex, but it would be nice if this was native rather then needing to transcode and stream

Cons: No Native Local Streaming

I bought because of the ear buds

I bought this for the ear buds, as I am getting older an losing some hearing. Also it allows me some freedom while watching tv. Seems to go through the AA batteries pretty quick, a minor inconvenience, not a deal breaker. I also have an Apple tv box, but like the Roku's tie in with Amazon. It has locked up a few times, looks like it is trying to load something as it blinks its power light. I just do a power off/on reset for it to recover.
Pros: Fast Setup

It supports all the online video services I need (Apple TV does not support Amazon video), but its iPhone/iPad APP only provides me a remote controller and a photo slide show. If this App can support the screen mirrowing function that will be ideal. That is the only step to win Apple TV completely.

I found out about Roku on another forum I belong to(woodworking) I've found many interesting programs and lots of old movies. Just remember to read the fine print on each channel selected.

This is my second roku. I have not had cable in 4 years. I use it to watch TV using Hulu Plus, streaming netflix, PBS kids for my little girl, and amazon too! I love it. It is easy to use & works like a dream. I recommend them to people all the time. Quit wasting money on cable!

I owned the Roku 2, and was enthusiastic about trying the Roku 3. The timing was right, and I simply moved the Roku 2 into my grandson's room. He was thrilled. Setup was simple, and the product couldn't be easier to use. I also own an Apple TV, and it can't begin to compare to the Roku. I particularly enjoy being able to plug the earphones into the headset so I can watch videos while my wife reads. I've purchased 3 Rokus so far, and plan to buy a couple more. I find I need one for each television set, and I've gotten them for relatives as well. Nothing beats the Roku when it comes to the breadth and depth of their viewing selections either. From MLB-TV to Crackle, Netflix, Amazon TV, etc., no one, Apple TV and Chromecast included, comes close to their selection. Highly recommended!
