I use this product in my bedroom to watch movies on the weekends. When it's raining, I can move it to my living room, and curl up with a blanket. Definitely one of the best investments ever made! It's great when my younger (kids) family comes over. I can simply turn on netflix, or the Toons Channel, and they can pick what they want to watch. This is great on weekends, when there's nothing else on TV. The only downfall is is that HDMI is the only hook-up for it. While most of us have newer TV's that allow this capability, I've taken it on roadtrips and vacations to watch a movie while there (Since it's hard to figure out the channels). Most of the hotels, like Marriot have a newer TV, however, when renting a Condo, sometimes it doesn't work.

The new way to watch tv

The Roku 3 Player has been an excellent addition to my entertainment system. It is easy to setup and use while maintaining a minimal appearance. More and more I am getting tired of the offerings from my television provider and increasing rates. The Roku brings all my content subscriptions together in a clean intuitive interface without making it overly complicated. The quality streams perfect at high resolution and excellent audio. It is only limited by the service itself and of course your local bandwidth available. There have been some occasions when watching a video caused buffering or would stop entirely as well as randomly disconnecting from its wifi connection. I have it connected on the 5gHz channel and would notice it disconnect at times even when my other devices remained connected. During these times a full restart was required by pulling the power from the Roku. One other concern is the remote control runs on a wifi-direct connection instead of traditional infrared. When the remote connects it uses the same channel that the Roku has connected to on the wifi router. I am unsure if this would cause any interference on neighboring devices on the same channel and so far every other device connected has behaved well on the local network. Overall, I am very pleased with my Roku 3 and have enjoyed it very much watching all my content in one place and beginning to use it far more than the satellite. I can see myself eventually cutting off my DirecTV subscription and moving full time to watching everything on the Roku 3.

Needs interface overhaul, some channels still resemble original Roku. PS3 and smart Blu ray players have channel interfaces that are easier to navigate and look much better. No YouTube! That said, the video quality looks great and the wireless headphones are the best feature.
