Great Product..But Beware Your Location

I got this product because of two reasons, accessing my local media and using Netflix, as the media player I had before didn't offer Netflix access and this is the one in vogue along with the ATV. Sadly, I did not do my homework correctly and failed to notice (now that I think about it, it's not clearly stated anywhere)that this device has regional blocking when accessing the channel offerings, hence I am unable to download the Netflix channel here in Honduras (Latin America). So I only got to do half of what I wanted by using the PLEX channel to stream my local content. On that point, it's also kinda of a bummer (for me at least) that there's no possibility of accessing content via UNC paths, software like PLEX can really put a toll on the PC (I'm unable to game when my kids are streaming a movie as it starts "hicuping" for them). The part I don't understand is why would Roku not allow downloading the Netflix channel if even Netflix has legal and valid service for Latin America. Netflix already filters content for these end markets so I'm guessing there would be no issues on distribution rights or the such when accessing through the Roku. That is the case also with other channels, like say the IGN channel, Roku regional blocks it but the site is available anywhere in the world, I can access on my PC, tablet, phone..anywhere..except the Roku. In all the device seems good, and I'd recommend this to anyone who lives inside the US so they can take advantage of all services. As for trying to find out what would or would not work in your country, I haven't found it easy to get that info, then again, maybe the device was never intended to be sold outside the US.

Love it.. except for the remote hanging

I love everything about the new Roku except the remote stops responding pretty regularly and we have to power down and power up the system so it works again.
Pros: Attractive Design, Improved Search, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Faster Response Time
Cons: Remote Hangs

Simply the best device ever!

I only use my Roku 3 to stream downloaded movies and tv shows and it works amazing. There is no lack or lag in the streaming media and setup was instant. I love the remote and the headphone port is extremely handy. I love the design, its a small box that can be hidden or displayed.

Great replacement for cable

I got the Roku in order to ditch cable, having grown tired not only of the cost but the number of channels I simply never used (or even objected to - living in the Bible Belt means being constantly barraged with "the word"). I like the Roku amd have greatly enjoyed having the choice over programming and over when I watch things.

Better than Google TV

Very Easy setup, just plug in a few cables and your done. Setup is quick but logging into some apps/services take time. It is much quicker if you use the smart phone companion app as it gives you the ability to use the onscreen keyboard to type in login/password info. Other than that its fantastic! Speedy access through menus and the picture/sound is great!

Powerful little box!

This tiny box satisfies our media needs! It was simple to set up and it's simple to use. After just a few clicks, it was on our network and we had no problem adding channels. The major players are included (Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora, etc.) and the combination covers my family's needs. Buying the Roku enabled us to cancel our cable subscription and has saved us about $40/month!
Pros: Fast Setup, Easy to use, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Small form factor, Simple Controls
Cons: Cannot set static IP, Poor Remote Battery Life, Sd Slot Isn't For Media, Limited channel selection

ROKU 3 IS OUTSTANDING AND EVEN EASIER

If you love to catch up on your favorite shows watch the classics or see a great movie anytime, this is the best and I really enjoy mine. Try it the quality and selection is wonderful
