So simple and yet so great!

I live in an area with commuter and freight trains and my TV (antenna) will freeze a lot, and I miss entire segments of shows. With this I can watch without interference movies and shows I like and at a time best suited for me. There are specialty channels for all kinds of things from health to UFO's and everything inbetweem. In addition, you can pay for 'channels' like hulu plus, and netflix, amazon and tons of free channels like PBS and Smithsonian as well as Pandora. I could go on and on, but check it out yourself! So far my only 3 'complaints' are: I have a hard time finding a current list of working private channels and finding some things I would like to see. Every once in a great while you need to unplug it and reset it because it has hit a glitch to make it freeze. But that has only happened once in the couple months I have owned it. The final concern is when it was set up, you have to enter into Roku's registration either a credit card number and info, or your paypal info, and since you also have to give that info to the channels you choose to pay to have, ( netflix etc) I am not understanding why Roku also needs that info.
Pros: Eliminates Digital Freeze, Fast Setup, Small and unobtrusive, Simple Controls
Cons: Finding Channel Lists, Occ Need To Reinstall, Need For Credit Card Info

I previously owned a Roku XD|S. The streaming quality and speed is definitely better. The menu layout is easier to navigate and the search feature is superior to earlier Roku models. Still no YouTube channel although there are workarounds (Twonky).
Pros: Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Still No Youtube Channel

Roku? But We Just Met!

Great device, use it mainly for Giant Bomb, Amazon, kid stuff (PBS Kids), and music. The headphone option with the remote is amazing. Interface is a little slow, but to be expected with navigating through a grid. Wish there was better sorting/organizing options, as currently it's just arranging the boxes in order. No ability to divide/add breaks or make sub-categories.
Pros: Fast Setup, Remote, Small design, Simple Controls
Cons: Boxy Interface, Limited Sorting

Convenient

It is used at my house, it's great to come home for lunch and instantly watch something then when I'm do just go back to work. If I stop a movie or a TV show it will remember and that also includes between "channels" which is just different providers.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls

I am disappointed that I am unable to access Netflix through the unit. As I understand this is a common problem with other users. Hopefully ROKU is working to resolve these issues.

I was given the roku 3 as a birthday gift. I already had a gen 1 roku and absolutely loved it. I didn't think it could get any better, boy was I wrong! You have a lot more choices with the roku 3. I absolutely love it and will buy it again in the future for my other tv's.
