I have an Apple TV which I use for Netflix, Podcasts, radio stations, Air Play, and viewing photos and video from my computer. I use the Roku for Acorn TV and Amazon Prime. I wish there was more HD and 5.1 sound on Acorn, and 5.1 on Amazon. Roku really makes up for the lack of channels on the Apple TV.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video

Its a great idea. Easy and fast set up. I now have one for every room and once my Dish contract is over, going strictly Roku!

Great at first, then crashed on me.

It worked great for 6 weeks until my grandson tried to hook it up to his HD monitor and it crashed. Now all I get is broken picture and sound. I tried all the reset solutions and even resetting back to factory settings and none of these fixes changed it. It's unusable after 6 weeks.
