Roku 3 has no audio outputs, other than the headphone output on the remote control. For those of us with excellent older amplifiers for our home theaters, this means you will be using the sound from your TV rather than your audio system. The only solution I've found is to replace your amplifier with a new one with HDMI inputs. I'd like to see a less drastic solution since I very much like my Harmon Kardon amplifier.
Pros: Fast Setup, Easy to set up
Cons: No audio outputs

I use my Roku for entertainment and it is a great device for me. I also like how the remote has a headphones feature that is great when living with multiple people, I no longer have to worry about waking up my roommates.

Roku never disappoints

I started out with the original roku. Every time they release a new one I upgrade. I haven't had the need for television in years. Oh? But what about current events and news you say? Go ahead and load the channel store to get ABC, Fox, NBC, CNN Live. There really is no reason to subscribe to tv anymore with the Roku. With the Plex channel, there is no need for a blu-ray or dvd player either for that matter.

Lot of power in a little device

I didn't think I would use this as much as I really do. I love the fact that if you don't want to disturb anyone you can plug headphones in the remote (the downside is you have to plug them into the side of the remote which is an awkward place to have a headphone jack; and it drains the battery pretty quickly if you use headphones all the time which I do). Hulu Plus, Netflix and other channels play smoothly using either wired or wireless internet. The physical size of the Roku box makes it easy to put out in plain sight without it looking clunky or intrusive. Because the connector to the tv is hdmi you get full 1080p and things look crisp and sharp. I do wish when there is an update that it would tell you. Sometimes when the remote doesn't respond I suspect it's either checking for an update or is in the middle of an update; a simple note on the screen saying there is an update would be nice. Gaming is kind of a useless exercise, but if you want that in the device, it exists. Playing Angry Birds is awkward, but something like trivia games and reversi is okay. But then again I didn't buy this device to play games (I have consoles for that). Otherwise I love this little device. I use it almost daily. I haven't cut the cable but when I am looking for something other can what cable is offering I can almost always find something interesting to watch on the Roku device.

Cons: Gaming Is Weak, Battery In Remote Drains, No youtube channel
