We use our players to watch movies and tv series on Hulu Plus, Netflix, and DramaFever. If they would add more channels like YouTube and Viki, that would be great! The SciFi and Disney channels only show clips as well, not full length shows, so it'd be good if they could actually add the full shows. Other than it doing resets by itself sometimes and the occasional freezing causing us to reboot it, it's working out okay. It's still better than paying $100+ a month for cable/dish. It is faster than our previous Roku players also.
Pros: Dropped Cable, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: Resets By Itself, Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Needs Rebooted Sometimes

The speed and performance of the Roku 3 is the best yet. In addition, the remote headphone jack / volume controls come in handy for late night viewing. I can watch a movie and not have to worry about bothering my apartment neighbors without having to continually adjust the volume up for dialogue / down for things going boom.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

We use our Roku 3 player every day, almost all day. We have a 4 year old who loves all the videos on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Disney...I could go on. Talk about being easy to use even he, our 4year old, can operate this player. Thank you for a great product.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

Remote control is not impressive. The ear phone jack hooking up to the remote...................not quite cool. Blue tooth would be better.

It JUST WORKS

In addition to being a powerful and cheap netflix box, I have a home plex server for movies. I used to use jailbroken apple TVs but they never worked right. Meanwhile, the plex application is for free right in the roku store and it works perfectly every time. Put the apple TVs on ebay and replaced them all woth roku 3s. Every room in my house now has netflix and plex. Picture and sound quality is great and I never have buffering issues on my 100mbps powerline ethernet network. I could not be happier with this product.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cable is dead, it just doesn't know yet.

Cable companies demand you buy expensive packages of programming you don't want just to get a single channel you do. No more of that. Roku gives you the choice of what you want to pay for, and at a fraction of what cable or satellite charges. In fact, Netflix and Hulu Plus alone cost under $20 and will give you most everything you can catch on cable. There are a couple negatives. You'll need a fast reliable high speed internet connection, over 10mbs minimum. If you watch local channes you're going to need a high def antenna installed on your house. Some channels require you to have a cable account number, and ditching cable is the top reason to buy a Roku. Last, even though there are tons of channels, apart from a few, they are mostly special interest or lite versions of websites. Also of note, NFL fans won't find any NFL channel. Football fans are going to have to have a PC to watch games. That may seem a big list of negatives, but they are really minor compared to the pluses. Many of them have a fairly easy work around and the huge selection of channels, even if you may never have heard of a tenth of them, has some real gems. I couldn't be happier with my Roku. I get what I want, when I want and nothing I don't want. Take the red pill and free your TV.
Pros: Choice Of What You Want, Attractive Design, Affordable, Simple Controls, Choosing What You Want, Fast Setup
Cons: Lack Of Some Live Sports, Need Cable Account For So, Lack Of Local Channels, Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Not many good channels
