Super Simple

This is a great little product. Remote is super simple to use. Most of the channels have been updated to the current UI style...no instruction needed for guests of the house...they can pick up and use right away. Only thing that's wrong with it is once every other week or 2 the UI will get a little glitchy and lockup...power cycling the box will always fix. Used in conjunction with PLEX it's an awesome full service TV replacement.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Fast navigation, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Great Stream Quality

Oooh, I can watch Netflix on my TV. I haven't really found anything (interesting) that I can do with my Roku that I couldn't do already with a Google TV, Xbox, Tivo, etc. It's challenging to take something off my tablet or computer and throw it onscreen.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Drops wireless connection frequently

I'm using this to watch IP TV and I have to go through wi-fi settings more than 3 times every day. I checked the roku forums and see that many people have reported this issue, but no official response from Roku yet. This is a very annoying product experience. Not sure if this is a compatibility issue with my router, but many users are complaining about this.

Cons: Wireless Connection Issue

The Roku 3 is the perfect example of how to upgrade your products. Everything about this is better than the older Rokus... faster processor, more memory, more features with the new UI. The Roku 3 beats the competition in every way!

Love it so much we bought a second one

After canceling U-service due to increasing costs and frequent outages, we picked up a Roku 3 to smooth the transition to internet-streamed TV. Price, set up, and picture quality could not be better. Channel selection is somewhat limited (not Roku's fault), and our 10-year old had the hardest time with the transition. After a few weeks, though, she found replacements for most of what she was missing and has discovered new shows she would have never found otherwise. My wife is an Amazon Prime member anyway, and we're subscribing to HuluPlus and Aereo (for the local channels). Even with those subscriptions we're spending less than half of what we used to before the switchover. We purchased a second Roku for the playroom, and are working to get my wife's mother on a Roku as well. We're sold on the product.
Pros: Ease Of Searching, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: No Native You Tube App, Limited content

I purchased a ROKU when I downgraded to basic cable. I wanted something to "replace" the DVR that had come with the cable. It suits that purpose somewhat since I can watch TV shows after they air, as if they were recorded on a DVR. I use several channels on ROKU - mostly HULU, NetFlix, and Smithsonian. The picture quality is very good. I almost never have a lag in the signal where it needs to catch up. And my wireless speed is not that fast (around 5mbps). It is simple to use. I gave 4 stars because I would like to see more programs available. (for example - you can't view most CBS programs). I know that is primarily an issue with the channels, and not with ROKU. However, ROKU must have some negotiation power to push channels into providing more content. After all, without the channels, ROKU does nothing.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls
