Easy to find a show you're looking for. Good recommendations based on what you've already viewed. Thinking about getting a second Roku for the bedroom.

ONLY supports HDMI audio output

I intended to have this unit replace our older Roku in the living room, relegating the older one to the basement, but I was shocked to discover that the very small Roku 3 does not supply any auto outputs other than HDMI. We route all of our media sources through and older audio receiver, so this was a problem. Now the kids have the new one in the basement, and the old Roku continues to serve in the living room.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Poor Design

Move Over Cable - Make Room For the Roku

We live in the country, so cable is not available. We have Direct TV but find it very expensive with no option to purchase a basic package. The Roku allows us to have lots of options at an affordable cost. We were concerned with the speed of our internet (also a challenge in the country)but we have had minimal problems with streaming.
Pros: Cost Effective, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup

We don't have cable and use the Roku for most of our viewing pleasure. The device is simple to use and always ready to play what we want. I have not really tried to play many of the games, so I'm not sure how that comes out. We see very few issues streaming content and the ones we have are due to our Internet provider's ability to stream; the Roku's buffering seems to smooth out inconsistent bandwidth issues. THe video and sound are clear and sharp.
Pros: Unified Search, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

The whole family is in love with this streamlined little black box that has brought a world of viewing into our living room. We own both a Roku 2 and the Roku 3, and as far as we are concerned if there are any "cons" associated with this upgraded little gem.....who cares!
