I am new to streaming. I chose Roku over paying for a second cable box. Setup was a snap. The picture quality is excellent. I can't really say about the audio as I am only listening through the tv speakers. I watched HBO Go and Amazon Prime. My only complaint is that I could use more detailed information about the various channels - what they offer, cost, etc. Otherwise, it's been a great experience.
Pros: Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Fast Setup
Cons: Need Better Channel Info

Roses are red, Violets are blue. Cable and satellite can't touch Roku.

Roku works great, easy to use and set up. HD is pretty good. WiFi works great. Beats streaming over the Wi or PS3 by a mile. We cut the coard and between Roku and free over the air, we don't miss cable, other than sports, but we'll live.

We use Roku 3 for just about everything and we are considering cutting off our cable subscription. Our local channels are available by rabbit ears antenna.

Its quick and smooth operating piece of tech, getting the big content like Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video is a snap. As a recent "cord cutter" the large library of other channels is great. Also the remote is great, super simple and I almost always reach for it vs using my Logitech Universal remote. All in all, a great product.

Channel options are pretty good. Far as I understand there is no intention of making this a web browser, but a youtube channel would be convenient. Also plugging in an external HD into the USB and adding the USB channel works great- but it's really poor at correctly playing the sound and video of my own content. If it was integrated with VLC that would solve everything. Outside of that, it's extremely easy to use, set-up, etc. etc. and is awesome for amazon/netflix and such. There are really cool other channels like TED and an easy app to stream content from computers/phones/tablets to the Roku.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls

I'm not sure if it's the Roku or my sound system, but when I removed my XD from my living room system, and hooked up the 3 to my living room, I started to have audio sync issues. The audio would lag behind the video varying from a few frames to half a second. Restarting (unplugging the Roku) seems to fix it temporarily, but I've had to do it at least 3 times. If you have any suggestions, please share.
