Excelent product Very easy to use

No problems using this product Some difficulty setting it up. Seems my TV was not a smart TV and the Sony worker had to dial in and set it up. Once set up fantastic. Really easy. Could not ask for more.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls
Cons: Difficult setup

The Roku 3 is great, this is my first Roku so I can't speak to the improvements from previous versions. But this one is solid, simple straightforward and downright fun! You should get it!

Frequent Freezing

Maybe it's just my internet connection (although I never have any problems on my computer), but the Roku constantly freezes. I have to re-set everything every time I watch a show or movie. Very frustrating!!

Just What We Were Looking For

We had an Acer streaming product and it took forever to boot up as well as just being slow and hard to use. The Roku was a snap from the moment we got it - easy set up and adding channels has also been simple and quick.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls

Not reliable loses wiify connection

Loses contact with router for no reason during nonuse and while viewing a movie. Very slow down loads on some movies. No sound down loaded with movie.

Was told by sales person that the earbud audio from the remote would allow independent control of the speaker output, but not so (after ten seconds!). This would be a great feature if one member of the household had hearing problems. We were told that this would be corrected, but have not heard a word. Can you give me more info?

Pretty happy, but a few hiccups

I replaced an older Roku unit with the Roku 3 in order to take advantage of the dual band wireless and get more reliable HD delivery, especially when using Netflix. I've definitely seen improvement there, and in the speed of buffering, which is great. However, I've had an issue where the unit wouldn't display picture and instead gave an "HDCP compliance/unauthorized" warning, which I had never seen before on the old Roku -- and this box is set up using the same HDMI cable and in the same port as the older box. I had to plug/unplug to reboot the unit, and I haven't seen it since, so I'm hoping that's a one-time thing, otherwise I'm planning on exchanging it from the purchase point. Also last night I went into the Channel Store and was surprised to see no channels displayed. I clicked through a number of categories but nothing ever appeared onscreen. This is a minor issue, but one that I didn't expect. Overall, I'm pleased with the new Roku 3. I just hope it continues to work as steadily as the older unit did but with better PQ.

I got it to use in place of a cable box with my Time Warner Cable account, which charged $10 a month for the box. I also love that you can plug headphones into the remote and hear the audio from the programming.
