Love the Roku 3

I have no complaints for the Roku 3. I do not have cable and so, the Roku 3 is what we use for our TV entertainment. We also listen to our music through our Roku. The only negative, and it is a small one, is that every once in awhile, you do have to unplug to reboot it, but that is rare and it boots back up in about 5 minutes. Had to replace the first remote but other than those 2 minor issues, no complaints. Well worth the money.
Pros: Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup

Why i got a ROKU 3

The biggest reason for me getting ROKU was that I was getting tired of paying high prices for a TV cable setup that delivered a lot of gabagge shows. I am now saving 70 dollars a month that can be put to better use and watching what i want. Also they offer a lot of shows that you would have to pay extra if you had a cable package. I think cable packages are on their way ou because of that.

Canceled cable TV a few years ago and never looked back. Roku is my primary streaming device. I love the new GUI and would love for all the applications to take on the new grid format (hopefully grid is in the new SDK). Please work on the relationship with Google. No You Tube is a huge hole in the devices functionality. I love the new remote and the ability to plug in headphones!

Price is pretty high. I use it mainly for online subscriptions, ie: netflix, mlb.com and such. Like my PS3 a lot better in the other room. Roku picture is disappointing and buffers way too much. The ease of use makes it worth owning.

Very nice - my 4th Roku player

We now have 4 Roku players in the house. I started out 18 months ago with a refurbished XD unit. This unit was the size of a paperback and still uses the old interface. All the newer units are much smaller and about the size of a hockey puck. My only complaint with the new Roku 3 is that the remote relocated the "OK" switch from the center of the 4-way rocker to it's own button underneath the rocker. I liked it better in the center of the rocker. Oh well, I may wind up getting another remote with the old style. Very happy with our Roku devices since we already subscribe to streaming with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu Plus.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Ok Button Not In Center

Best decision I ever made

It took me a long time to decide whether it was a good move to spend the money on another entertainment unit to watch more content on my TV, but I can finally say it's one of the best decisions I've made in terms of spending. I use it to watch shows and movies on Netflix and to run the Plex app which allows me to watch the content from my computer. The quality of the content is delivered with clarity, the flexibility of listening to the sound out of the remote has made my wife very grateful (especially when she's doing something else while I'm watching TV) and the ease of use has allowed my children to use it right away. Another thing I can appreciate on the Roku 3 is the Bluetooth remote, since it allows me to control the device whether I place it behind the TV or under the furniture cabinet. I don't have any bad things to say about this device, and I've been using it for over 7 months.
Pros: Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Fast Setup
Cons: None so far
