Very Useful player

Use this product mainly for Dishworld app to watch Hindi channels. Headphone jack feature in remote control is very innovative and useful. Design and flow is very soimple too. Main issue is applications hang a lot which need restart often.

Finally upgraded and happy I did

I had been using a first version Roku box for years and it worked flawlessly, so I didn't really see a real need to upgrade. But one day decided to give a Roku 3 a try and glad I did. Although the old one worked really well, the new one is much faster both in loading and channel switching. Also, the new remote design and the way it communicates with the base unit is really great. I also believe the video quality to be better. If keep this one as long as the old one I'll easily get my monies worth for sure.

I have two Roku 3s

I have 2 Roku 3s and other Rokus at every TV for a total of 5. The only reason I did not give 5* was for the position of the "OK" button on the remote which should be in the middle of the navigator like other Roku models. I love the concept of the 3 because I can watch late at night or when someone is napping and turn it up as loud as I like. I use my 3 a lot so I find I must change the batteries every 2 wks or so. I may invest in a rechargable for this reason. I have another problem with the remote where the back button does not always work and I must hit it again which is annoying. I think if the OK button were in the center like I stated before, it would be faster when searching as I have to stop, look down, etc to make sure my finger is in the correct place. There are definitely bugs to be ironed out in this remote, and I await to see if they come out with another remote later. I still would buy it again for the headset benefit.

Cons: Remote Needs Work

to many re-boots and battery usage

I watch many movies per week and find the AA battery usage,about two every 2-3 movies very expensive. Re-chargeable batteries last an even shorter amount of time. You also have to re-boot after most usages. Great for casual user I guess, but not an everyday user. The other model are better. I imagine the battery usage is due to the headphones(ear plugs).I say I would not recommend to more than a casual user.

Best gadget I bought in years

Setup took 5 minutes. Main reason for buying ROKU 3 was the headphone jack in remote control. It works perfectly. Love the ease of use. Batteries last about 3 days. No problem, always have rechargeble ones ready. Absolutely love the product. Buying additional one for second TV set.

Roku Roks

Roku allows me to comfortably keep up with Security Now. The v3 let's me listen over headphones which is a big win. Plex server add on makes this a great alternative to Apple TV for a Linux user. Minus XBMC. I wish it were just a tad more plug and play and it seems to forget its WIFI when there are power outages.

Cons: No browser, Facebook App Stinks, Not Quite Xbmc, No youtube
