I have to say that we exclusively use the Roku 3 player for all viewing needs with the exception of DVD/Blu-Ray discs. I am very satisfied with the amount of available channels and video. I am sad to say that we wish there was an easy work-around to the missing YouTube channel. Don't like the idea of using another device to stream the mother of all online videos!!! Besides this I would definitely recommend the product.
Pros: Simple Controls, Easy to use, Many Channels, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: No youtube channel

Always the Best

I have purchased over 8 Roku boxes since this company started for family, friends and myself. Each time I get a new one I am so amazed at the improvements and the fact they listen to the customer. I asked for QVC and here it is also BigFish Games. All of this and more. I love this HD only feature for my TV. This is my only form of TV and entertainment and couldn't be happier with this new Roku3. Thank you for a reliable product. Service department could be a little better than it is at this time. 1st time in all these years they are not following threw. Love this company and I am sure they will improve service department issues. This is a progressive company, that is why I refer them to everyone I talk to and show them mine and they are amazed and happy to have one of their own .

Still needs improvement

The worst thing about Roku 3 is that it constantly freezes and needs reboot (power off) to bring it back to work. It creates a lot of hassle. In short Roku 3 is still far far away from the quality Apple TV offers. If Roku can fix these technical issues, they can be considered a equal competitor.

Cons: Frequently Needs Reboot

I already had a Roku 2; this was a slight upgrade from that but lost non-hdmi output.

No matter what I did, my new Samsung "smart" TV had lousy internet connectivity. Got the Roku 3 to stream Netflix. Works flawlessly. The one time it froze, I simply unplugged the Roku and plugged it back in and "voila" it worked great again. Best to load up your Netflix queue on a computer as Roku's Netflix interface is fairly limited. Other than that, seriously, stop trying to win with your smart TV and just buy this little box and enjoy Netflix Instant...instantly on your TV. In fact, Roku should just come with the new TVs.

Cons: NO, No youtube access

I love Roku 3!

I had the original Roku for years and upgraded to Roku 3 a few months ago. I am very pleased with this device! I like the fact that you can search for anything on the main screen and the search results will include all the channels it is on, FANTASTIC!!! This makes searching for things so much faster! The picture quality and sound are better than my old Roku by far. Also I do not need to unplug this one and wait a few minutes before I plug it back in for it to work right. This was a problem I had with my first Roku from the very beginning. Perhaps my first Roku was simply defective I don't know, but I had to do that every time I turned the TV back on with that first one. This was my main reason for wanting to replace it with the newer model. Roku 3 is problem free and I use it constantly, I never watch regular TV anymore! No commercials, no stuff I don't wanna see, it's FABULOUS!!! I also love how I can pick anything I wanna watch that's not free and pay for it right on the screen, then watch it instantly! So convenient! I recommend Roku to everyone! I can't believe everyone doesn't have one already! I will never go back to regular TV or cable!
