Cut the Cable!

My family and I finally cut the cable bill, and we are saving a ton of money. We went from spending $145 on cable every month to only spending $50 for our highspeed internet. We have netflix and Amazon prime, and even with those two services we are still saving a ton. The best part is that we have MORE programing choices than ever. We can watch everything we used to watch plus all shows that we were not getting with the expanded basic cable package. Better still, there are no commercials and we get all of it on demand. We can still watch all of our favorite shows on our terms. We have two Roku 3 units now, and we love them so much that we are going to buy a third. We will never go back to the old way of watching TV again.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design

Great Addition to my Living Room

I use the Roku in order to watch MLB.tv, Amazon Video, Pandora, and free apps. I get it through my cable provider Wave Broadband, and I pay $5.00 a month. It works great for what I use it for, however, I do wish it had built in DLNA capabilities. Also, I had the Roku 2, and the Roku 3 seems to run much smoother.

So good that I bought two

I bought a Roku XS last year and loved it so much that I bought the Roku 3 to add to a TV in another room. Setup is a breeze and it's very easy to use. The only negative comment that I have is that the wifi reception is a bit weak. I had to hardwire one of the units even though it was only 10 feet from the router and separated by a single wall. All in all it's a great device and I'd buy another one if the need arose.

Cons: Wifi Reception Not Great

Ours is used at home, I will buy another 3 for our home. If you are going to get the best bang for the buck plan on paying for apps that are usable. Some of the free movie apps are weak.

All you need in a small box

This is the single best device I have ever used to gather multiple streaming sources together with little to no muss or fuss. I use my Roku 3 daily, wither it is watching movies, tv or listening to music, this is the best investment you can make for you home entertainment system. One feature I absolutely love is the in-remote headphone jack. My brother lives with me and stays up much later than I do. I own a small condo so the noise from the TV carries, but with the headphones we've had no issues with bothering each other late at night/early in the morning. There is only one thing that I don't like, and that is the lack of a YouTube app, but I'm sure there is some terms disagreement between the two companies, but I hope to someday have access.
