exactly what I needed

My goals were to use the roku for my plex server. It was easy to add the plex channel and everything has been working great. The kids like watching movie trailers and everyone feels comfortable navigating with the remote.

Darned if it doesn't work

I use this every day. When I'm not watching something or listening to music (Amazon, Spotify, Pandora) the screen saver makes it a clock I can read with my bad eyes,

HDCP Errors with the Roku 3

HDMI setup of the Roku 3 was a challenge with my older Vizio. The only combination that worked was moving my surround system connection to HDMI 2 and using the Roku 3 with HDMI 1. Not sure what was up with the HDCP errors when the Roku was connected to HDMI 2. Roku support and KB material are virtually non-existent. You need to rely on the message boards and other user comments, but even they couldn't help with the HDCP errors. Finally figured it out on my own through trial and error. Netflix quality is not as good as it was when we used Netflix through the Wii. Audio quality is good.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video

Anyone wanting to cut the cable cord needs this! Easy to use and lots of channels to keep you busy. Can't believe we were throwing away so much money every month. The Roku box is a one time purchase that keeps on giving! If that's not enough there are a few premium monthly fee channels that can be added to the device that most people are already using for tv shows and DVD rentals but still a small fraction of what we were paying in cable bills. I would recommend this to all of my friends and family.

Jury is still out .....

The jury is still out, because I have tried only Netflix so far, and I get WAY too many black-outs. I don't THINK the problem is with Roku 3, but I can't tell for sure. I'm having to call the Geek Squad to diagnose /fix things. Netflix advised me to re-boot the router, and the roku, which I did. Slightly improved, but not great.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: Typing In Search Box-argh
