Our go to streaming device

We use the roku to stream vudu and hulu plus to watch our extensive video collection and for mom to catch up on her soaps. There are so many options to choose from it's almost too much. We've only run into an issue once, rebooted and everything was back to normal. I highly recommend a roku for anyone who wants to try streaming. It's worth every penny.

The "New Guy " Has a Lot to Learn

We bought this product to replace our Roku 2 XD that was destroyed by lightning. The new features are nice, but the performance of the remote is very disappointing! It often takes several tries of button-pushing before the unit will respond!!

Almost there...still better than AppleTV

The Roku (especially after the new UI Upgrade) has been the best Streaming device I have owned. I have had AppleTV, and the services are pretty comparable, with the edge going to Roku. Apple's tendency to curate their offerings has a crippling effect on the extended services that are available, and should be easily connected to (Eg., PLEX Media Server) withoug "jail-breaking" the device. Roku allows all of these lesser-known but content-rich apps on their device. It is great to have MLB.TV and PLEX Media Server, as well as all of the rest of the mainstream services (YouTube, HULU, Pandora, Netflix, VUDU) available without hacking. I have 3 Roku devices (2x Roku 2XS, 1x Roku 3), and all of them have proven their worth. I am a DirecTV subscriber until my current contract runs out. At that point, I will be strictly streaming using Roku. My suggestions are simply to work with other content providers to offer more services. For example A&E offers an IOS and Android Application to stream their shows on portable devices. There is no reason (other than contract negotions of course) that the A&E App shouldn't be available on Roku. Short list of "wants", so overall, AWESOME device!

We are in the process of 'cutting the cord' with cable. The Roku box is unobtrusive, yet powerful. It's simple to install and use. We love it.
