Improved performance. Tons of channels including Plex for those with home media libraries. The automatic headphone support is great too for individual listening and makes that super simple and effective. The remote uses RF (RadioFrequency) instead of IR (InfraRed)so place the unit almost anyplace in the room and no line of sight issues.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, Lots of channels

The only thing my mom uses the Roku for is Dramafever and she loves it. The quality is great for most of the new releases and she can watch what she wants on the big screen. Only drawback is if the weather is hot and she watches for a few hours the Roku gets hot and the performance slows down. Sometimes it needs a few minutes off the plug to get it going again. Not sure if this is an issue that everybody sees or if it is just a defect with our particular Roku.

A few months ago I cancelled my DirectTV service and subscribed to Netflix and HuluPlus. Not only am I saving in excess of $100 a month, my ROKU3 keeps me well entertained!
Pros: Attractive Design, Super Fast Beautiful Res, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

Use with HDMI cable connected to tv. Great used with computer. Needs to be reset too often when other devices also using internet in area.

Roku 3 is the best overall

The Roku 3 is the best in the market at this time. I have always upgraded my Roku. I have had a Roku since the original one years ago. The latest operating system is a vast improvement from previous versions. I use my Roku at home. I bought one for my elderly parents and one each for my brothers. It makes a great entertainment gift. From time to time it freezes up, but overall with the latest os, it is a pleasant media experience.

Our family has moved to streaming movies from a variety of sources; purchased, owned, and rented. Bought the Roku to replace spotty streaming performance on our existing Sony Google TV. The Roku works great, sleek design, and I really love the built-in headphone jack in the remote. Perfect for night viewing when the rest of our household is in bed! Super easy to set up and use.
