we use it for tv watching but mostly to check radar on weather 4 you channel.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design

Roku 3 comments I am delighted with the speed and performance of the Roku 3 unit. The setup was easy and flawless. My only negative comment relates to the lack of access to live broadcasts of major TV networks. Since live broadcasts of EWTN are available, why cannot a similar service be provided for the major networks, or is there a way to accomplish this for at least the local TV networks? Perhaps another reviewer has a solution to this comment?

Does not have regular internet access , but not a big deal . It has a great variety of channels with awesome entertainment value . I love the small size of the unit and it gets online lightning fast . I used to have Google TV and this is soooo much better . The price is very reasonable .

The Roku 3 plus digital antenna and I do not need to pay $100+ for cable service. I can pay minimal monthly fees for one or more streaming video channels (movies, tv, specials, cartoons, etc) that combined rarely go over $35 a month. Or don't subscribe and enjoy the multitude of grade B movies or free classic tv series. A lot of choices! Plus, there are many free video games for young and old that are loads of fun with some to buy that are cheap considering the fun provided. My wife just LOVES the Pandora radio station!

I started with the first generation Roku and switched to the Roku 3. Following the on-screen setup, this new version sinks your TV and Roku player in about half the time the first version of Roku did. I did have problems with video after the initial setup, but I got a longer HMDI chord and moved the Roku 3 about three feet from the TV. I have not had problems with the video since. In addition, the Roku 3 has not froze up once since I started it up. With the older version, It was freezing up on an occasional basis. Wish List for Roku players: 1) Stay with the original design to allow a standard RCA plug besides the HDMI plug. I visit with many people that have older TV's and cannot afford new TV's anytime soon and those TV's do not have an HDMI connection. 2) Unsure of the business between Roku and U-Tube; Please reconcile your differences and start including a U-Tube channel. 3) A controller that has a small Qwerty keyboard to input information in order to sink your Roku Box and channel setup (i.e. Netflix, Pandora, etc.). 4) Lastly, A channel that allows Roku users to know the program lineups on the various channels they subscribe to.
Pros: Large amount of channels, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Its a refinement of the 2, so much faster family loves it. If it had more granular network settings it would be a nirvana device for me! Friends have purchased Roku devices based upon my recommendations a number of times.
