Awesome and Easy

My family loves the Roku. We save a bundle on streaming tv/movies instead of cable. We have a large family so we are always looking for ideas to save money. I have four children and even my 3 year old son knows how to work the roku. It's so simple to go thru and get to where you want (channel and/or show). I have another streaming device in our house and it doesn't even compare to our Roku. The Roku is fast, simple and responds very easily. My husband and I love how the ear plugs go right into the remote. This works great for us when someone is staying up late and watching tv, that way all the people sleeping are not bothered. Also love that it doesn't use much power. You gotta just spend the little bit of extra money to get the perfect product. It is totally worth it, SERIOUSLY!!!

Shows Promise, but Stunted

I bought the Roku 3 as soon as it was announced. The horrible UI design of the software is what kept me from buying a Roku in the past, and the redesign was the excuse I needed to pick one up. I subscribe to Amazon Prime Instant Video, and neither my Boxee or AppleTV support it. The "home" screen is much improved, but that's about it. It's a fresh coat of paint over channels that remain almost entirely a mess to navigate. I can only assume that Roku wants you to search using only their Universal Search, but most of my time is spent browsing in my free time, and Roku has a horrible browsing UI. I could only recommend this to someone who already had an AppleTV, and was using this as a secondary box. As soon as Apple puts Amazon on the AppleTV and opens up development - even if only a little - Roku will be gone. Displaced by the AppleTV, XBOX360(ONE) and the PS3(4).
Pros: Easy Web Setup, Small Footprint, Universal Search
Cons: Little Setup Option, Poor Design, Horrible Ui On All Channe, Horrible Ui

Fast and Easy!

When we moved to our new house, we decided to turn off all Internet and cable services and "start over", so to speak. Roku was a great choice, since we primarily only watch Netflix and very little network and cable channels anyway. I didn't know much about streaming before I bought the system, but read up on it and decided to go with a new Internet provider and Roku. It was so easy to set up, we were up and running the day I took it out of the box. Works great and we've cut our entertainment costs down considerably!!

This is very cool, easy set up, internet can hook up wired or wireless and has a lot of channels pre-loaded to choose from! I'm so glad I bought this instead of going with a Wifi DVD/BluRay player. Sometimes and only sometimes the movie/show has to buffer. I guess that is if the internet slows down but when it does it comes right back. The remote is cute, small and you can rewind/fast forward, pause what you are watching. The device itself is small, perfect to fit anywhere around your television.
