My boss suggested Roku as a way to cut my cable bill. I have had it 1 month and love this device. The control is simple to use even with the lights low. The quality is top notch.

I use this awesome Roku for Netflix, Mlb, Amazon, to mention a few. Ditch your cable (I did!)and buy this little wonder.

Roku 3 is a great value. Much faster load times than Roku HD. I get everything I need through Netflix & Amazon Prime. Children love playing angry birds. Now if it only had a chrome web browser or youtube app, it would be perfect.

Simple and Fun

Roku is easy to set up. You need about 30 minutes to set up the basics; an hour to select channels and register. The channel options are wide. I heard only after I purchased Roku that there are outlets (?) I can't use -- youtube, itunes (obviously), and maybe others I haven't researched yet. I know that it goes both ways; You can't watch HBO to go on Apple TV, maybe? It's easy to rack up the pay-for channels so if your point of Roku is to cancel cable and save money, make sure you keep track of the channels you register for and how much it all totals. Roku does give you the power to taylor your list to your taste. You learn as you go. I thought all I would need is Netflix and Hulu plus, but I'm learning I'd probably be more happy with Amazon instead of hulu, etc. The search tool is ok. I did try to do a Criterion search and nothing came up, yet Hulu plus has an entire Criterion library that I happen to find recently. The earplug/remote thingy is cool. I fall asleep before my boyfriend -- so he gets to watch movies all night and I don't hear a thing. My biggest disappointment is how the Netflix lib is displayed. When I used my laptop to watch Netflix before Roku I had far more filter options; better mining of the site. Netflix would show similar movies to a movie I would choose, and then similar movies to that, etc. Great depth searching and suggestions. I feel like I'm only getting a surface level of options with Netflix via Roku (similar to how Netflix looks on Wii). So I'll have to go to my computer to dig for good titles? That stinks. Overall, Roku is pretty fun. (lots of free channels, too) Wonder what I'm missing on youtube?

Considering the sost between DirecTV and purchasing teh Roku. Thats a no brainer. Add some musc and a pay channel option and you have an awsome little black box. DirecTV was 59.99 a month. Do the math. A Roku is such and easy choise. Look into it.

I use Roku mainly for watching movies and occasional television shows. It was fast to set up and works great. Many, many channels to choose from.
