This is our second one. The new global search feature on the new version is what sold us on getting the new one. However, the other feature upgrades made the product even better.

I use this product for all TV viewing. I gave up my expensive sattelite service and will never go back. One small cost for TV viewing one large step in saving money! I upgraded my first generation Roku to the Roku3 and was amazed at the improvements. Setup was a snap with the wireless connection significantly faster and the Roku interface loaded instantly. The breadth of improvement in search, in channel offerings, as well as 1080p were also noteworthy. Heartily recommended!

good product ,easy to use but drains the battery of remote very fast and hangs often ..so have to do power reset

Dumped Satellite & Cable

I dumped my TV provider when I noticed how much I spent per year. Cable & Satellite are priced too high and I refuse to pay for hundred of channels when I only watch a handful of them. I have an outdoor antenna to receive all the local TV channels in picture perfect HD. I also have movies in the mail

The Roku has not caused us or allowed for us to cut from our Dish Satellite provider just yet. Soon, perhaps the next few updates or Roku iterations will bring about the improvements (Cloud DVR, Channel Surfing, Phone calls and texting - Standard) that facilitate that type of change.

Cons: Can't "sling" To Other Tv, No Recording Action
