I am an isomninac. The remote with audio earphone connections is marvelous. The clarity is wonderful on my 60" Plazma screen and my theater components. I also have the XD, it is good, but it losses signal frequently. The "3" does not loose signal.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Use it to generally watch movies. Bought Amazon Prime. Lockup is annoying. The unit wakes up when I press OK and seems to start loading the main menu but freezes. Must repower the unit one time and it runs fine.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Must Use Pc To Subscribe, Occasionally Locks Up

Great Investment for cord cutting

Even without a web browser and access to standard hulu content, still worth every penny to kick COX to the curb! Using Over the air and Roku 3. Tried the Visio Google TV, was the worst hardware I have E-V-E-R purchased...note: I'm in IT...hardware and development. Ive read up on Sonys latest Google TV product and sounds like they lead that market...but still not quite there. Gonna just hang with my Roku 3 for awhile. Roku 3 has a great interface by the way! Super friendly....but the Roku search engine needs allota work....they need to better index the content providers search engines...maybe run a near real-time query against all provider (Amazon, Hulu plus, whoever) databases?
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Cost
Cons: No Optical Audio Out, Search engine, No Standard Hulu, Did I Say Your Search, No Full Web Browser, Rokus Search Engine

Best electronic "gadget" out there

As a senior citizen with heart problems, I don't get out much. My form of entertainment is my TV. The Roku 3 streaming player has taken my television watching to a whole new level. I can never, ever say again that "there is nothing to watch on TV". My kids and grandkids call me "gadget lady". Probably the only 70 old lady they know with an IPhone, IPad, Laptop, Surface. blue ray player, portable wand scanner, and now a Roku. This is the ultimate! I love it!!!

I am so glad I got it. I had dropped cable and tried to just use Hulu and it was so hard to figure out what was available. This is so much better.

best device to watch everything

The Roku 3 is the only device aside from speakers that should even touch the TV. The plex app and Roku 3 makes this a god tier product. There is nothing this little $99 device cannot play. I love the fact that the device is wireless and there is a wifi android remote. I love how you can plug headphones into the remote and listen. I thought there was going to be tons of lag while on wireless, but have yet to encounter any issues while using wireless with the Roku device. I hate how some channels come up empty and/or have useless content. Come on channels, I'd like to see some actual content not 2 minute clips of shows.
