no web browser cripples the device

I enjoy the device for netflix and some of the channels but the refusal to implement a browser is not only foolish but stubborn. So much content is held hostage by refusal to do something so simple. Its maddening. I could be playing grooveshark through my home theater but no..

Roku has sent me down the path of cutting the cord on cable TV. My entire family loves the Roku (5 of us) and we use it all day long. I am constantly raving about it to friends and co-workers. Finally, the content we want, how and when we want it. Thank you Roku!

Routinely requires reinitialization of wireless connectivity prior to use. Other wireless devices do not have the same need.

Had been using the WII to stream Netflix. Didn't like the quality of picture and the lack of ability to stream other channels. Went and purchased Roku3. BEST purchase EVER! 1. WII streamed in 480p. Roku3 streams in 1080p 2. Numerous Free stations to stream. More stations added almost daily 3. The quality and quantity of programming available on the pay stations. I dropped Netflix and added Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus. The only time I watch cable anymore is to watch the news.

Our son gave us a Roku 3 months ago and we love it. We added an antenna and save over $130 a month.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
