Great design, simple setup and operation

Bought a Blu-Ray player with streaming video connectivity and returned it due to poor performance and design. Roku provides a much better user experience, especially when comparing the speed of loading Netflix and the speed of browsing through shows.
Pros: Fast Setup, Better Than Alternatives, Simple Controls, Fast response, Remote Is Great, Search Across All Sources

We own five Rokus, this model being the latest addition to the family. Having owned Rokus since their inception, we are qualified to make legitimate analysis of this product. Our oldest one has died but all of the others continue to provide our family with excellent viewing performance. This newest model takes it to the next level. Another Great Roku

The search feature is absolutely fantastic for finding which streaming service has a particular movie or show. The Roku 3 is MUCH more responsive than the original Roku and Roku 2. The Netflix app on the PS3 is much more featured than the Roku version, but if you subscribe to multiple streaming services, you'll likely find the Roku is much better than its streaming box competitors like Apple TV and the WD box.

Cons: No youtube, No live TV, No Overall Volume Control

Best entertainment $$ I ever spent

How did I watch TV without it? I don't even miss cable TV service now. The streaming options are plentiful and low-cost, and the many freely available apps allow the Roku to be an amazing media server. I'd recommend to anyone without hesitation.

excellent alternative to having cable

You will need a subscription to HBO, (Cinemax, Showtime, etc.), if you want to catch up on some of the series, but there is plenty of other media to entertain the casual watcher. If you are a dedicated long hours watcher, you will still want cable. if you are a gamer, ROKU has a lot to offer.
