I cut the cable!!

The processor power of this unit has allowed it to keep up with today's computer's that can encode video and stream it to your unit flawlessly. Just a few years ago this was not possible with "Buffering" coming on. Today you can get higher download speeds through your Internet connection and stream true 1080 picture quality. The remote is just like a WII remote and games are coming out that take advantage of this unit. I have a Logitech Remote programmed for it and my only complait is that as simplistic as the factory remote is, I wish I could take advangate of more features of my remote with macro's etc. Do yourself a favor and look for other media servers that can stream numberous channels to this such as "Plex" and "Playon" Do your reseach and add "One channel" if you want to break away from Cable.

I was hesitant to cancel our cable but 6 months ago my husband convinced me to cancel it and get a Roku. I wish we had done it years ago! Our basic cable bill was $60/month--We now pay $10/month for Netflix and about $8/month for Hulu Plus so are saving $40/month and I don't miss the cable at all. The search feature on the Roku 3 is really wonderful and makes finding our favorite movies or tv shows a breeze. I have recommended it to friends and family and a way to see most of the shows you want without the big monthly bills.

This is an excellent product. I recently had the western channel on my cable, and was paying to much for the channel. Then I heard about the new ROKU 3, so I decided to give it a try. I was mighty supprised how great it looks and how great it works. It is really easy to setup and over the long period it will have paid for itself in a few months. I'm so happy with this product that I purchased one for my wife for her TV. I would definitely recommend this product. IT's so GREAT!

Wish it were better,

I use streaming content devises daily. And to be honest i'm disappointed in the new roku 3. It has weak wifi. I'm constantly losing speed while watching Netflix. Quality is awful. I have a roku xd and it works great and a Google tv by sony that also works great. I'm returning the roku 3 tomorrow.
Pros: Attractive Design, Lots of content, Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Wifi Is Weak, Does Not Improve Audio/Video

I love everything about this box except for the lacking codec support. I use it with Plex and more native codec support would be amazing. It's nevertheless the best streaming player I have ever owned, and the bang for your bucks is simply astounding.

Good Product / Would Buy Again

The only complaint I have is the unit will disconnect from my WIFI on occasion. It has happened a couple of times during the middle of a show. It connects up really quick when I go back through the menu, but overall, good product.

We watch English Mysteries and TV show made in England. Really easy to use. If I could add anything to ROKU, It would be to load more than one show at a time.

Roku 3 far from rock solid

This box is a step backwards from the previous model which I loved and had great wireless connectivity. I like the design and menus in this model better but this version is less reliable than the last. The wireless headphone jack is great especially when it works. Overall it's nice and I like that is has vudu but for the price it seems like the XDS may have been a better model.

Cons: No youtube, A Step Backwards, Intermittent Wireless, Bad Connectivity
