Netflix Picture Quality Is Not HD

Although Netflix displays that it is in HD the picture quality if very obviously not HD. Compare Netflix to Amazon and you see a world of difference.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Netflix Has Poor Picture

Knowing There Is A Choice

The cost of cable is out of control. And, there are too many channels I DON'T want but have to get just for the one channel I do want to watch. That makes that one channel really expensive! However, with my Roku, I only pay for channels that I want. And, there is plenty of free. Even if you want to keep your cable, Roku will give you shows that you are not able to find anywhere else.
Pros: Fast Setup

Earbuds and Remote Control... Perfect!

I use my Roku as a primary means of viewing TV, movies and music videos on my new favorite vevo. I have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Vudu, and love to watch all my HBO premium Series, True Blood and Boardwalk empire using HBOGO as well, forget using that clunky Comcast Remote to stream video. In fact, I rarely use my cable box anymore or my DVD player for that matter. My DVD and Comcast cable box sit and collet dust. I also have several other streaming devices and the ROKU is the only one that gets any use, in fact the Logitech Revu, and Apple TV are not even plugged into the TV HDMI ports. My one wish for Roku in the future is that they develop relationships with HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and Starz so I could subscribe directly to those premium channels through ROKU and no longer maintain a Cable account with Comcast. I love the new remote control, with the earbuds, and watch the way I want, when I want.

While there are quite a few good apps, their are many useless ones too. I would suggest Roku create more apps for some of the major networks. ie: I can go to USA network (on my computer) and watch full episodes online for free but dont have this capability using the roku. The content is free and published online already, roku needs to find a way to expand their channel selection with this free content.

A gift to watch almost whatever you want

I was tired of cable that kept going up in cost, and receiving very little. I only watched a few channels, and with Roku I have found more things that I had never heard of or was never around to watch, and now enjoy more options and watch more than I ever have! It's the best deal around!!

WE watch movies and TV, listen to music, watch videos. The remote took some getting used to as it is a little different configuration. After of several months of use, I think I still like having the "OK" button in the middle of the arrow keys better. I love the convenience of having ear phones. I will be getting another Roku3 when I can for our other TV.

Worth the money

I've owned this about two months now and I have been very satisfied. I am a casual user but I watch Netflix and MLB.tv. My wife watches the Korean dramas. The setup was very easy and it is easy to navigate once you have selected all the channels you prefer. Again, I've only had it two months so I have not encountered any problems yet.

We use it for all our viewing needs because of the growing violence on tv we found that it was safer to pick and choose shows for our kids to watch. If you could somehow put in a parental lock that would be awesome
