Excellent alternative to cable

Love this! Our family decided to give up cable and instead start streaming our tv content. We have had the roku 3 box for several months and have encountered no issues.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup

Awesome product. I like the headphone jack (but would have like to have seen two). It's great getting caught up on Breaking Bad on Netflix. I'm also a Glenn Beck subscriber and it's great to be able to stream their programming straight to my TV.

I tried the ROKU about three or four years ago and the unit worked well but the existing applications out there were not up to its capabilities. A friend said that the new ROKU has advanced to an unbelievable level and with what is now out and available would boggle your mind. So I bought a ROKU III and he was right! This unit is outstanding even at 1.5 Mb. I varied my speeds from 1.5 to 20 and this unit never changed its characteristics. It NEVER missed a beat. My set up Is such that one unit runs the grand babies system another runs my shop screens and the last unit runs the two entertainment centers. Based on its performance and cost savings I have since dropped all satellite systems and ugly antennas. So in a nut shell it is inexpensive and extremely easy to use. And only one controller makes life altogether great!! Cost savings $105.00 a month and Angry Birds.... Ya gotta love it. Thank you

I've been using a Samsung Blu Ray player for streaming Netflix and Amazon for about two years. It has always been a pain... Slow, drops connections, and loses connection for no reason. Setup is always painful. I bought the Roku 3 hoping that it would be more pleasant to use, and I have to say it's one of the best entertainment investments I've ever made. Couldn't be happier.

I have the Roku 3, Roku 2XS, and a Roku HD and there all fantastic and with all the channels available you don't need cable!After the local ota news it's Roku Time! If there is a con it's very minute it's the user interface the new interface is much better.

The unit goes through lots of batteries even if you have it go in sleep mode. My first remote was defective so I had to have another shipped. The initial customer service rep I talked with said that the remote was designed for you to have to take the batteries out everyday and re-insert them, which is ludicrous. Fortunately, a customer service advocate person stepped in and helped but the initial rep needs lots of training. The unit also "freezes" a couple of times each week and has to be unplugged. Still lots of bugs but I think the company is trying and the customer service advocate was helpful.
Pros: Fast Setup
Cons: Poor Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had a few problems during setup, but now run our 2 rokus smoothly. We use the common channels of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime and slacker radio and they are all faster and easier than on our smart tv or bluray apps.
Pros: Ease of use, Cost, Speed
Cons: Freezes sometimes, No youtube
