i use this unit on a second t.v in bedroom luv my pandora no problems with the roku 3 had great improvement over 1 & 2 -1080P is great very little buffering---would be giving roku 3 for xmas presents this year !

The Roku 3 is my 4th Roku. I love that it is run off my Internet. As soon as my contract for my satellite is complete I am going to just use my Roku's. love the variety of FREE programs. We use it everyday.

I love the search menu on roku. It is so much better than other similar devices. The setup is a little bit of a hassle as you have to go online but its woryh it. I have not missed my satalite subscribtion at all. There are some many channels of good free stuff. I wish there was a way to play itunes movies but thats just how apple is.

We bought 2 Roku 3's to replace expensive TV subscription. Aereo recently started service in Atlanta & use it for local stations & Netflix for other content. Just $8.00 for each. Roku easy to set up and add new stations. Will pay for itself in 2-3 months!

product would be perfect if batteries didn't waste at such great speed. have to change them approx. every two weeks. this is my second one. first one sent back for the same reason. remote freezes and wont work until battery is changed. what a shame. lots of money for batteries.

Nearly Perfect

I use the Roku 3 nearly continuously. I've owned several older models and Roku's usability and speed just keeps getting better. The Netflix app has what I consider the best UI for watching TV shows, making it easy to watch episode after episode. Having Amazon Instant available is a huge plus compared to some other streamers. The Hulu app received a recent update which greatly increased its speed, but it still has some UI issues: notably, the play button the remote control serves no purpose unless you're already watching a show. The normal behavior is to just play the show you're on when you press it. Instead, you have to hit OK to enter the show, then OK again to actually watch it.
Pros: Amazon Instant, Attractive Design, Channel Selection
Cons: No youtube

There are clearly still some software bugs in the system. Replaced Apple TV because it constantly hung, slow streaming and audio/video mismatch. Roku works much better (when it works), but crashes at least once each session and refuses to respond to controller. Requires an unplug/restart and waiting for the REALLY STUPID Roku animation during restart. Cute becomes annoying after the 15th time.
Pros: Crashes Less Than Apple
Cons: Crashes a lot

The remote ear piece is great for us hi people, just wish it did not turn the TV sound off or present an option to run both.
