If you had problems with the Roku 2, rest assured that the Roku 3 has fixed them.

Almost perfect

We are entertainment buffs who have no interest in purchasing cable due to the plethora of channels in which we have no interest. We don't like sports - why would I want 5 sports channels? The Roku gives us access to almost everything we could want (the biggest exceptions being YouTube and HBO (without a cable subscription)) and we can now watch television shows old and current, movies old and new and anything and everything in between. The only cons I can think of are the fact that there is no YouTube access and that if you want to watch HBO shows you have to have a cable subscription - HBO doesn't offer a way to pay for their programming without that subscription.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Great selection
Cons: No youtube access

I utilize my Roku 3 on a daily basis, and I just love the private listening feature.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, Private Listening, Fast Setup

good player but...

i bought this product because of the remote audio feature. However, after a few days of use, the audio from remote started to be erratic. I constantly have to reset often and after awhile i had to call tech support. They were very helpful but still it took a couple of calls to fix the problem. Software issues.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Audio From Remote Iffy, Remote Needs Alot Of Twea
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have (4) ROKU devices in our house and for the most part we love them. We cut the "Cable Cord" with the help of these. Saving about $100 per month.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Very user friendly, Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup
Cons: No Easy Streaming Options, No youtube channel

Cannot say enough great things about the Roku 3! We ditched our satellite and went strictly to the Roku. We are now saving TONS of money (even though we are now subscribed to two monthly-fee services) and we get to watch what we want to watch. The free channels are great too. BYUtv is one of our favorites.

I haven't used many of the channels much, but the Plex channel is awesome for streaming all of the local media that is completely unorganized and stored on various computers around the house. The remote/headphone feature is really neat too for watching TV at night in bed.
