Although I have cable, I use my Roku more often- mostly for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, sometimes movies on demand from Vudu. There are so many other channels available, I'll never be able to see them all, but so far I've found more gold than garbage. The main reason I was interested in the Roku 3 was the wireless listening option- I can plug any earbud/headphone right into the remote and listen without disturbing my two year old daughter who is sleeping in the next room. The included earbuds are OK, but I use a pair of in ear monitors. All in all, this box is packed full of features, and smaller than a deck of cards- you could Velcro it to the back of your TV.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Lots Of Content Available, Fast Setup
Cons: No Native Youtube Support

Great upgrade

Upgraded from an original Roku to get the built-in headphone jack which I love. The "Loading" screen is the middle of my Netflix movies has gone away and I now get hi-def every time. I'm glad I upgraded.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Reliable Hi-def, Fast Setup, Better Load Speed

I use for streaming of Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go and TWC. It is convenient and easy to move between TVs in my house. My wireless internet connection is not very good but it seldom slows down the Roku streaming.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Easy to use, Portable
Cons: Freezes occassionally

I hesitated but having Amazon Prime and all those movies pushed me to try it, but there is much more than Amazon Prime (and Amazon Prime has a lot of stuff that in and of itself would probably make it a great deal) -- we easily found "channels" in the dashboard to add and look at the first night we plugged it in -- and a lot of things are absolutely free, any that cost are identified so you don't pay for something you did not intend to (we have yet to pay for anything and have had this for four months already). There's enough selection for us to never need spend another dime -- and not old stuff -- lots of recent programming as well as oldies and goodies. Then we do happen to subscribe to HBO and never thought we'd need it but recently missed one of our favorite shows starting up for the new season -- no problem -- we connected with our HBO GO account and got to see it. I am sure I am not giving it justice -- but for us it is a wonderful device. Remote easy; we live in a rural area and don't have the fastest internet but we rarely have any issues. Can't tell the difference between streaming quality and the HD satellite quality. The headphone jack works flawlessly -- very nice if you want to stay up late and not disturb others -- nice that its built in and included. We bought the little mount and put it behind our big flat screen and you never see it -- out of sight but never out of mind. Free things like NEWS, WEATHER, Buddhist channels (there are lots of religious channels), access to thousands of old movies -- what's not to like. Set up was easy, adding channels from Showtime, HBO, Amazon Prime just take a moment each and once you add them they come up automatically. Then no monthly bill!

This is what I use when I get my down-time to watch a Netflix show or get on Pandora when I work in my basement. Set-up is very easy and I had mine up and running in minutes along with newly added channels.
