I mainly use the Amazon prime member feature which allows me access to movies and especially TV programs I don't get on cable. Most of my viewing is on Roku now.

We bought this item for the streaming devices and are very pleased with the results. It has locked up a couple times but just unplugged for a min or so and plugged back in and works great

At 60 I found myself needing to access internet streaming and not having grown up with the current state of technology, it isn't as intuitive to me as it may be for others. Scoped out the usual consumer reports, blogs and friends for the best direction to go. I ordered it, hooked it up as instructed, and it basically worked as expected. It finds items across several websites, shows what items cost and what is free before you select. The letter-by-letter search tool isn't fun if you don't use this method a lot on anything else. Not a significant obstacle. I liked it from the first. Hope it is robust and lasts awhile. I spread my discretionary free time around on various media and pursuits, but I do appreciate the Angry Birds in Space being included, now.

I was given the Roku for Netflix to watch in my bedroom since m a night owl! I hwe luv it! We even took it to myrtle beach on vacation with us for the kids to watch movies at night on Netflix! The controller is so simple my 5 yr old picked it up within days and I love that headphone option!!!! Probably the best feature is the headphones pigging directly into the remote so u don't annoy everyone around u if its late. I have nothing negative to say about my Roku!

Best Internet TV Box

I use it for movies and TV from Netflix, PBS, and Amazon Prime, educational programming from Ted, Smithsonian, and PBS, and music from Pandora. Operation is fast with a simple interface. I wish it had audio optical out, because I have an older AVR with no HDMI.

Don't bother with a Smart TV!

I have two SMART Blu-Ray players which are supposed to do what the Roku 3 does. After messing with the Blu-ray players for months I gave up. Searching was extremely slow, not to mention to download speeds. I took a gamble with the Roku 3 and hit the jackpot! This is the first time I ever won anything. Simple to use, as the kids are now experts with it. I even bought a Roku 2 for the second tv room. Highly recommend!!

Missing Popular Playback File Formats

Fix files support and add a nice media center theme when viewing video collections through the usb drive please.
