I really love this new Roku. I loved the LT version I had before, but I read that this one had headphones you plug into the remote and since my daughter often sleeps later than I do, I wanted to give it a try. It's great --like being in a theatre! I wish it was easier to type on it but overall I'm really happy with the purchase.

Everyone watches movies on their gaming systems in my household. I wanted a device that streams HD movies and the Roku 3 is the perfect system. Depending on your Internet service you will have excellent HD movies to watch!

Using remote to connect to speakers

I got the Roku 3 to connect to a projector via HDMI. Since my projector doesn't have any audio out ports, I planned to use the headset connection on the remote and plug it into speakers near the projected image on my wall. I owned the very first Roku and found the Roku 3 just as pleasant to use. I appreciate the simple interface and remote. I wasn't really interested in using the Roku 3 to play games. I primarily use it to watch TV shows and movies. The Roku 3 has performed well in that respect, but I have a few problems with the remote. I'm not sure if using the headset port on the remote uses more power, but I go through batteries about every 3 weeks. Sometimes, I need to fiddle with the cord I have connected into the port to connect properly. If the cord isn't plugged in just right, he sound is too low. When it's plugged in correctly, it sounds great. The other issue I've noticed is that as the unit stays on for a long time (over several days), audio starts to progressively degrade. It will sputter and stop. At first, I thought it was due to Netflix or Amazon, but I found the same problem with both channels. Unplugging the unit to restart it was a hassle, but it usually fixes the audio problems. Despite all this, I'm very happy with the unit and still would recommend it to friends.

Cons: Unplug To Reset, Remote Battery Life, Finicky remote

I love this device and have recommended it to friends. It does everything I want it to and more. I can play my media files from my computer on my tv, I can play netflix!!!

Loving this the lil black box and remote

I use this mainly for Netflix, Vevo and I will be adding Amazon and Hulu plus in peps to cut the cord. I love the size and the quick response because it's always on and the head phone jack in the remote is my favorite for private listening. Wish it had some live TV but I have an Mohu Leaf antenna to take care of that.

was surprised by the requirement for a credit card to complete the installation process; had to contact support to get past this issue. Also found a problem with the lack of control for HD programming. I submitted a note via the WEB site with my phone number and never heard back.
