Big Improvemet

Streams video much better than previous versions. Worth upgrading for the improved performance. Mine locks up (freezes) if not used for a week or two. Have to unplug and plug back in to get it going again. Not a big deal but a little disconcerting the first time it happened.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Locks up occasionally

We use Roku to access Acorn TV and some news stations, and some PBS shows. We don't subscribe to cable TV or other pay per view services. We don't think much of the user interface. It is too busy. We think the controls could be improved. There is a lot of clicking to get to the show you want. We don't see a big difference between Roku 2 and Roku 3. Except that Roku 3 gets knocked off the internet almost nightly, whereas with Roku 2 it is only weekly.
Pros: Simple Controls
Cons: Could be smaller, Does not stay connected, Prefer White Box Cord, Cant See The Improvement

Love the ROKU 3 but HATE the remote

I love the ROKU 3 but the remote just does not work right. My first remote stopped working after only a week. The free replacement works for a little while then loses connection to the ROKU box. You then have to unplug the ROKU and reset it so that it can connect with the remote again. I ended up not using the ne remote and using the old remote from my ROKU 1. This works perfectly for me since I do not play games.

After purchasing the roku, i decided to cancel cable. I did become an amazon prime member. There is so much content. I have a two yr old and two teenagers and there is plenty of channels to keep us occupied. I was worried it wouldnt meet my expectations as far as speed and entertainment, but it really exceeded them. The quality is supurb. And it is easy to move from one tv to another. I even enjoy the screen saver that displays a clock and fireflies when inactive. This along with a digital antenna has saved me a ton of money. About $100 a month. And im able to watch what i want when i want. The only con is i wish i could save moms channels in a folder and toddler channels in another and so forth. But this is a great buy and u wont be dissapointed

An excellent replacement for a computer when streaming movies. We always watch movies with subtitles on because the spoken words are often drowned out by too much background noise. An excellent choice for us!

Cut the cord from DirecTV and ordered 3 Roku 3s. They have been working fantastically and I recommend them all of the time. I am never going back to cable or satellite. The Roku has a lot of great default channels and a very wide selection of additional channels that provide a lot of great and interesting content. I am extremely excited to see what this company has in store and if they continue to make quality products like the Roku 3s, which I am very impressed with, I will be a customer for life.
