Great Update to Roku 2

better interface and more channels including Plex which allows me to stream my photos and videos from my home network. I use it to stream my photos

Don't buy this one if u use a wireless conection.. always losing conection and the remote is just miserable.. Get the hd for better results and cheaper. .

The Roku 3 is a great device. Had bought one of the first Roku streamers years ago and it still works, use it in my bedroom.. Over all the quality and user friendly device is more then I expected.. As well have reduced my cable bill to half as I removed my cable and I now live stream 100%

I bought this to get rid of cable. The only thing I pay for is a netflix subscription. My kids are happy and do not miss cable. A lot cheaper than cable.

Lots of movies and TV shows

It is not easy to start Roku up. You have to shut your tv on and off or wiggle and play with the cords to Roku to get it to start up. Can be very frustrating. The great thing is you have a ton of movies at your fingertips that are free or you can have memberships to some like Netflix or amazon and they are not expensive and have great deals all the time. I love the Remote control with the ear plugs that plug into the remote instead of the TV. I can watch TV late at night and not disturb my husband. The picture comes in beautiful as most of the movies are HD. And they add new movies and TV shows all the time so you never get bored.

channels are very clear. its simple to set up and use. only wish they would add more of the tv apps though. other than that i would recommend everyone get one

I had the Roku 2 XD before I won the Roku 3 in a Twitter giveaway. The Roku 3 is lightning-fast and incredibly intuitive. My 2 year-old son can operate it easily. The headphone jack in the remote is brilliant and the motion controls built into the remote for gaming are very impressive and accurate.

Works Like a Charm

We had the original Roku and it worked well with Netflix but didn't work at all sometimes with Amazon and Hulu Plus. The minute we started using the Roku 3, we noticed a difference right away. No more lockup, freezes or reboots on Hulu and Amazon. The new interface is easy to use and although we primarily use the Big 3, we have 52 channels. The only thing that's a little disconcerting is the initial picture you get when you select a show or movie to watch. Roku grabs the signal and then the picture slowly becomes High Definition. That's my only complaint, however, and given the glitchy nature of the original Roku we had, the Roku 3 is hands down a major improvement in usability, reliability and picture quality. Now if I could just get someone to pay for it besides me.
