Needed for Special Programing

I have an Apple TV, Google/Sony TV, PS-3 but none of them could provide a stable platform for The Blaze TV. So ROKU seemed to be the answer. However, the lack of an Optical Audio Output required the purchase of an HDMI/audio splitter. It cost an additonal 40% of the ROKU price from a good company plus shipping, plus additional 2 cables and another power outlet for the power supply and a week waiting plus an hour to route the cables and place the Roku and additonal devices. I really wish that the ROKU had considered that users need more than HMDI to connect the home theater experience.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: No optical audio output

We have used the Roku as our sole source of television and music for 3 years. The addition of a faster processor, better remote, and closed captioning made it worth upgrading to Roku 3 from Roku XD. My 3 &5 year olds can operate it on their own, and love the ability to play Angry Birds as well. I have no regrets about buying the Roku 3, and it has saved us $2200 in cable bills over the past 3 years. I highly recommend it.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Nice Processer Speed
Cons: No "netflix For Kids"

Thru Roku and hence Netflix and Amazon Premiem streaming, I have access to not just thousands of films but also documentaries, PBS series...a great leaning tool and for children to learn as well - and as an alternate to watching so much nonsense on regular TV, one can schedule easily some wonderful documentaries for the whole family. I think this offers a great teaching and learning opportunity. My purchase paid for itself in a week for what I could watch. And on my own schedule.

Blazing Speed, Easy Set-Up

Use Roku 3 for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Acorn and several other channels. Access speed is vastly superior to the streaming of our Oppo Blu-ray player. Remote is as simple as they come. Only complaint is I wish the remote had backlit buttons.
