bye bye cable!

This product enabled us to drop most of our premium cable channels and get a better selection of tv viewing with netflix and roku's channel store. Now with the roku there is always a wide selection of tv when we want. We are saving about $50 per month with the roku. Amazing for such a small device I think our sound and picture are absolutely improved. Plan on purchasing a 2nd roku in the near future.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Tiny Size, Save Money On Cable Tv, Fast Setup

My family and I use the Roku every day. I bought the Roku so we could have control over what enters our home. We have so many wonderful choices of channels, TV, and Movie shows. That way we can tailor what we want to watch. We like it clean. It also has great game choices that our grandchildren love.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Headphone Capable, Simple Controls, Attractive Design

I use my Roku to stream movies and television. I wish that it had a YouTube channel, though right now I use Plex for that. I love using my Roku to watch live UFC events - i events bought a UFC.tv six month pass because i liked the Roku experience so much.
Pros: Fast Setup, Wifi-enabled Remote, Headphone Jack In Remote, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
Cons: Lacks Youtube, Can't Browse Home Network, Lacks DLNA

Take Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

The new slimmer design is great. I have owned Rokus since they were first introduced, so I now have three different models. Users should be aware the Roku 3 only has HDMI output. The optical and analog audio out are not available. I had to rewire some features of my system to get it to work. Although this won't be a problem for users with new AV receivers that have HDMI. I have had some reliability issues, though rare, the Roku 3 sometimes locks up on the Channel Selection screen and must reboot. This was not an issue with previous models which I have used for years.
Pros: Attractive Design
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Less Reliable, Loss Of Features

I watch several streaming services and the Roku is great for that. I particularly like the Roku 3's remote's ear phones that allow me to listen to videos without the sound interfering with my wife.

Small but powerful!

The head phones will drain the remote batteries much quicker then I expected. Depending on my use, they may only last a 3-4 weeks at most. The setup was really easy and quick. The only sound option is the HDMI which works really well, although an RCA option would be nice, my older speakers which sound amazing are only RCA :( There is no power button to turn off the unit so it can get really hot, I usually unplug it if I know I won't be using it for a few hours. I've never had an "buffering" issues, and my internet plan is the cheapest Century Link offers. Still a great buy!!

Cons: Headphones Drain Battery, No power button, No Rca Audio Connections

The best thing since sliced bread

I got rid of my cable 4 years ago. I could not control what I wanted to watch but with Roku I can. When I am feeling down or depressed, I am always able to find something to watch. There is not one thing wrong with Roku. I should actually get commission from the sales I have gotten lol. I have actually convinced over 5 people to purchase roku. They can't stop thanking me enough for telling them about it and getting rid of their cable; which was sucking their pockets dry.
