Half of what I need.

I bought this Roku 3 only because my WD TV doesnt support Amazon Instant Video neither Pandora. Now I have to have both media player in my Panasonic non smart tv. Interface is too simple, I need video format options to adjust movies other than 16:9, -on my smart LG tv- picture formats can be adjusted automatically when in PLEX, for instance. Now I have both media box connected to my tv in order to get the best of each. Roku would be almost perfect if it supports media streamers as WD TV does. I would recommend this to a friend DEPENDING ON his needs.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: No DLNA, To Few Options, Not Enough Codecs, Poor Plex App

The box that plays EVERYTHING

Think of ANY streaming service. This will play it, and it will look perfect. Now add some gaming capabilities, incredibly easy setup, and quick loading/updating, and you will have the Roku 3. I'm not joking. This thing is amazing.

no analog audio outs is a negative

Love the easy access to Spotify and other music channels, but with only the HDMI output in v3, I have to run the signal through my TV and back to my two-channel integrated amp. The sound is noticeably worse than with the previous version of Roku where I could run the audio straight out of the Roku into the amp. Bummed. It's so light that it doesn't really weight down the HDMI wire enough and so it kinda slides around on the shelf. Practically everything you can buy now offers access to Spotify, Pandora, Netflix, etc, etc. so I might shop around for a more flexible component. If you don't feel like being picky, though, Roku is fine.
Pros: Faster Navigation, Better Screen Layout
Cons: Almost Too Small, No Analog Outs

ROKU 3 has problems, but shows potential

I bought ROKU 3 to replace my ROKU 2 in the primary location. The new 3 kept dropping the network connection, a problem I didn't have with the 2. This is VERY inconvenient. After several days, I moved my 2 back to the primary location. Have not had time to troubleshoot the 3 or contact tech support. The unit is rendered virtually useless by dropping the connection every few minutes. Would be happy with it otherwise. My network is NOT the problem, as the 2 works fine. The 2 was upgraded to the new interface, so they're virtually the same, except for moving the OK button on the remote, which I do not like. Also nice is the headphone jack on the remote. Would not recommend to a friend unless I can find that the network disconnect problem can be resolved.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup
Cons: Keeps Dropping Connection, Ok Button Location

We love this and the selections that we have! We had cable before and paid a fortune for it compared to this.

Good but with one plroblem

Simple to operate and gives great results. No interruptions as with earlier models. Only problem I have encountered is that when I plug in my earphones, the volume control does not work. I can't increase volume to a useable level.
