The only way to stream

Bought to use with Amazon streaming movies and TV. Wish I had bought sooner, so much easier than streaming through a computer or DVD player set up. The little box is unobtrusive and the remote very convenient. There's lots of other channels to choose from, many free options among them, and I've started added others recently, like my Amazon Cloud Player and Pandora. I wouldn't miss cable at all with Roku, which gives me more control over my programming. My only frustration is with a lack of display options - there's search, which is kind of cumbersome. I wish there was arranging by date added, alpha order, or categories (action, drama, etc.) would be great.

Hulu is not available, just hulu plus. Codes are time consuming to look up on the internet. The earplugs option works great. Roku unit generates a great deal of heat and should be mounted with good ventilation. It is a power sucker.

More HD contend please

ITunes HD content is the benchmark for me. I also have AppleTV. Once you view HD content there's no joy in watching SD content and other than content on Vudu ( same price as iTunes!) the HD content on Roku is limited. I have Amazon Prime (which says its HD but don't you be fooled....it ain't) and will watch my "free" movies from that source when I am feeling too cheap to rent or buy HD content from Vudu or iTunes. I also watch content from AOPA Live (I am a pilot). Travel and cooking channels are fun too. As an HD content streaming device it's a wash with AppleTV as far as I am concerned. Roku however offers many, many more channels of content than in the Apple universe. Since I really only watch one or two shows and stream only a few movies per month Roku has not challenged my viewing behavior and I still find myself preferring AppleTV for paid content, which plays better across my apple devices away from home. Your mileage may vary.

I bought Roku for a part-time residence rather than paying for cable every month. It was inexpensive, quick & easy to set up and is great for streming content from Hulu+ and Amazon. I was somewhat disappointed when I was traveling outside the US and couldn't use it, but I would definitely recommend Roku regardless.

I cut the cord to my cable and replaced it with over air broadcast TV and the Roku 3. It was only after I began using the Roku did I realize that the entertainment available through the Roku is far superior to anything available on cable. I particular love Acorn TV with all its suberb British television. The only thing I miss is being able to record the evening news at 6:30 although there is some streaming of the news available.

Great product but disconnects from wifi

I used this product in my home business to stream music videos using the Vevo app. I get it connected and start playing videos and, within 30 minutes, the wifi disconnects. There's nothing wrong with my wifi as I have other devices that stay connected at the same time. An improved signal and connection capabilities would help improve my review of this product. Would work great if you connect via Ethernet cable to the Internet.

I had used the Roku for some years but since I changed to 50 meg it simply does not work anymore.
