We use this unit to avoid the mega TV channels. It offers us a diversion without having to hook up a computer to the monitor. We can go from adult themes to programming for children by a few clicks on the remote.
Pros: Simple Controls, Wifi Allows Us Mobility, Channel Choices Are Numer, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Many Religious Channels, Buffering time, Loss Of Audio In Video, Does Not Improve Audio/Video

Definitely worth the money

I was paying tons of money each month for cable TV with nothing to watch. Many Roku channels are free, and those I subscribe to are very reasonably priced. There are many programs to choose from. I cannot see me ever paying for cable television again. I am hooked on Roku. One negative: I had to make several calls to my internet provider to get Roku to work.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, A Ton Of Viewing Ootions
Cons: No youtube channel, Difficult setup, Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Grainy Video Quality

Little box tons of fun

I use the product In my my bedroom and their is nothing like it. It's so easy to use I even bought one for my mother in law. If you want something that streams whatever you want the Roku 3 is where it's at. Because even if my wife is sleeping the little headphone jack on the side of the remote is a huge saver if I want to watch something that she absolutely doesn't want to hear.
Pros: Marriage Saver, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Turning it off

I had bought this device as an easier to use entertainment device for my wife to replace her xbox 360. Feeling that paying a little extra for the features in Roku 3 was worth it, was sorely disappointed. The remote is not sensitive enough for the extremely limited games available, as well as the very limited channels when compared to similar streaming options. However, the headphone jack in the remote is an ingenious addition. Overall, would still only recommend the original over other more expensive models; the extra features are not worth double the price. Also, anytime there is a loss in signal from the router, you have to manually reconnect. If it happens more than once, the device lags significantly, if it doesn't freeze altogether. To fix this, it must be reset. The 3 has a radio remote, not infrared, so I could hide the box. Since there is no way to reset without unplugging it, you will have to un-hide it for easy access anyways.
Pros: Easy Channel Swapping, Attractive Design, Creative Remote, Simple Controls
Cons: Lags, Freezes, Limited channels, Doesn't Reconnect On Drop, Extremely Limited Games

A great bargain that pays for itself

We disconnected our cable service and now use Roku in addition to an antenna with our TV's. Never miss cable for one minute. Roku is what allowed this to happen. With Roku we use Pandora, Amazon video and netflix. What more do you need? Sure don't miss those expensive cable bill's.
