Product freezes

Although it is a need idea, the product freezes all the time. I need to unplug it on and off to make it work. The remote also uses a lot of battery. I need to replace them each week. I'm returning the product.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls
Cons: Difficult setup

roku 3 is simple for channels that are in the (roku store)however it would be nice if it allowed streaming veetle.com or tub tub.com.I tried plex with no good or easy results.so no streaming my favorite channels:(

Its my third Roku! The Roku3 by far is the best. Great menu section. I even added a few channels. Bottom line..... its an awesome product, especially Roku3,

I have 2 Roku 3's. Occasionally, one will "freeze", which is corrected by unplugging and replugging the power source.
Pros: Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Vacations - if I go away somewhere with Internet access but no web page login (like a vacation home) I take the Roku rather than DVDs. Only thing is most vacation home TVs don't have HDMI - so if that's your primary use-case buy an older model. I was originally annoyed at lack of Static IP. But eventually decided I really didn't care all that much (was more the idea of it missing). But there are valid circumstances where there is no available DHCP server, and Roku doesn't seem to care. Fewer steps to watch refers to the number of steps it takes to get from the Roku home page to watching an actual video. Compared to, for example, an Xbox 360 (login to Xbox live, click through several ads for stuff you have no interest in, etc). Displaying more Apps on the Roku home page was pitched as a major feature in the Roku 3. Which for me is a trivial thing to focus on. My Roku 2 had just as much homepage space on a widescreen TV. Basically, don't use this as the primary reason to purchase. Yes, the Roku 3 is smaller than previous models. But unless you use it as an actual hockey puck the size gives you no benefit. On the other hand, the performance is snappier.
Pros: Quick Reaponse, Easily-ignored Roku Ads, Simple Controls, Faster Reboot, Fewer Steps To Watch, Handy Box For Vacation
Cons: Some App Cache Issues, Could Use A Stop Button, No Component Connection, Wants Line-of-sight, No ESPN App, No Static IP

We love it to stream in movies. When the grandkids are visiting they use it to play games. The main thing for me is that my non tech husband caught on fast an has no problems using it.

While I still have Cable, I was able to cut the cost by 1/3 while being able to add many More channels for watching. There are many channels to watch even one on RV's which I am much interested in. The unit is small takes up little space and once set up you can forget it. It is Great
