have had all iterations. 3 is indispensable due to earbud help and privacy re GF sleeping. Still feel remote could be a tiny bit less likely to to lead a moron to hit wrong button.....but that is a quibble.....a tiny quibble.
Pros: Fast Setup, Channels, Improved Audio/Video

Fantastic Player

I use the Roku3 every day / night to watch Netflix, Hulu or Amazon prime. Also use to play videos from my USB hard drive and NAS drive. Great quality and ease of use. The ability for my kids to watch with a headset and not disturb the rest of the house is a great addition compared to the Roku XD I also have.
Pros: Headset Enabled - Yay, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Does not play all videos

We put our Direct TV on hold for 2 months and used only our Roku. It was really all that we needed accept for the news.

big improvement over original Roku

I use ROKU most nights. I use it for baseball, TV shows and movies. I have a Apple TV in the bedroom and a ROKU in the living room, the ROKU 3 is of the same quality and experience as the Apple TV. I do wish it had YouTube and access to my computer and itunes library. Still need to reboot once a month ( the ROKU 1 needed to be rebooted once a week or more ).
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Multi Channel Search, Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup
Cons: No Youtube No Itunes

The Roku is amazing- stop right here and buy this product. It is so easy to use and really helps me maximize my streaming experience-- I can easily navigate between my cable and my Roku and there are so many options to choose from. And you really cannot beat the price! $100 is so worth it!

Roku not only provides great entertainment, it also includes all kind of learning and self improvement apps. My daughter learned how to make the Chinese green beans she loves, there is also different languages and all kinds of exercise and even spiritual programs not offered with cable tv. I don't regret turning off cable. Plus I save ALOT OF MONEY, by not paying for cable. The whole family enjoys ROKU. Thanks!
