The abiltiy to rapidly and predictively back up a few frames at a time is terrific and especially for someone with a hearing deficit and for explaining what is going on to other family members, etc. The Roku3 has made our movie and TV program viewing. much more pleasureable, thank you, Roku!

Once it connects, it's great...but...

I do like that this little unit is easy to use, once you get it up and going. What I find hightly annoying is that everytime I want to use it, I have to go into settings and reconnect to my internet. It's a PITA. And the batteries in the remote get used up very quickly. The headphones are a great idea, but it chews up batteries. You can't turn the remote off at all and sometimes I see it blinking even when we're not using it. However it's great that I can use my phone as the remote. That's nice. And once I figured out that the left arrow goes back, life was easier. The picture is fantastic and once a movie is playing, I rarely, if ever, get any buffering. Maybe once...but not lately. I wish I could somehow block R and higher rated movies in each app. That would be nice. I don't think that's a ROKU thing, but an app problem. Overall, it's equal to the apple TV (I have that, also, on another TV). I don't perfer one over the other.

We do not have cable at home, and rely a lot on movies to entertain us, and with Roku having things like Netflix, Hulu Plus AND great music too, like Slacker, I am in heaven! I never watch boring regular TV anymore, not with my Roku!

Don't need old fashioned coax!

Avoided the need to add coaxial cable outlet. Used with Time Warner Cable application.

Mostly all good; except volume control

The volume output is EXPONENTIALLY louder than my broadcast TV channels. Also, when I listen to certain channels, recent example Biography via PlayOn, the commercials were 3-5 times louder than the show. Setting the volume just enough to hear the show, when an ad came on I had to mute it because it hurt my ears it was so loud.

Cons: I Mean Really Loud, Uneven Volume, Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Ads Way Too Loud

It's good, but not great.

Wanted it to use in the bedroom because I was sick of disconnecting my AppleTV from the living room and bringing into the bedroom. I was excited by the hundreds of channels available. With YouTube missing from the lineup and after going through all the channels of content I have come to realize that AppleTV has more going for it despite having few channel options. Most channels have awful movies that no one actually wants to watch. The navigation and how you get around the channels are different for each channel and most of the time are not very efficient. I shouldn't have to try and get a streaming app for my phone to forward youtube video to my tv. A program called twonky beam let me watch youtube for a bit, but that has since stopped working as well. I would say I am overall disappointed in the roku 3. I'm now back to disconnecting the AppleTV from the living room and dragging it into the bedroom.

Cons: A Lot Of Terrible Content, No youtube

Earplugs/wiring are not suitable for laying down and watching tv. (wire gets in the way, ear plugs fall out) Ease of use is great but would like the batteries to last more then ONE MONTH!(plus give me a warning when the battery is about dead. It is always at an inopportune time. For some reason, I also have to unplug the roku player when the batteries are inserted, PLUS unplug the cable modem and the router OR the roku movies get STUCK. (stuck in downloading mode) So, the battery issue is cumbersome! Sometimes have to pair it again too.

Cons: Difficult setup, It Eats So Many Batteries, No Warning-battery Dead, Ear Plugswiring Bad Fit
