I purchased a Roku 3 to replace my Apple TV. I couldn't be happier. The roku 3 is incredibly fast and offers great streaming capabilities. The only negative is the poor remote battery life.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls

Good player, Serious problems, No Yutube

Excellent player if you don't care about Youtube and don't use static Ip's and don't care about power consumption, don't mind unnecesarily clunky user interfaces, and etc. A good example is that the remote has the best inertial control available but they still make you use the stupid d-pad to control basic functions. Could be really good if they listened to their customers.
Pros: Fast interface, Attractive Design
Cons: Poor Design, No YouTube Support, Stupid Controls, No Static Ip Addressing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Roku 3 is my favorite media streaming player. It's design is well thought out and VERY easy to use. The only con for me is the abscence of youtube.com. If this channel were added, this would be my holy grail of streaming players. The Roku 3 was purchased for me as a gift.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design
Cons: Needs youtube

Perfect for late evening entertainment after watching sports on TV. You can choose a movie or TV show that's just the right length to get you to bedtime.
Pros: Economical, Good Content Selection, Excellent picture
Cons: Poor Users Manual, Remote not intuitive
