the remote has become unpaired numerous times, worked ok after using the pairing instruction in manual

Stop now, because you've found your complete media viewing unit. Since we got our Roku3, it's ALL we use. No more local channels, no more cable...it's 100% Roku and we LOVE IT! We even have a small hard-drive hooked up to it that we can play some of our movies as well as photos. It's really THAT awesome. I give it 4 stars because while it has a LOT of channels, YouTube is not offered (I suspect because it's owned by a competitor). Roku provides some really great work arounds, so don't let that sway your decision...there are some great apps offered. Using some of their other apps. Just have a computer or laptop handy to supplement your viewing (I don't want to confuse folks...we're not watching content on our laptop, just queueing up content via an app that's supported with our Roku.) I'm so happy with our Roku that we've bought some for family members and I recommend it to everyone I talk to. (Esp. anyone that's using the "competition" wink, wink..nudge, nudge!)

i bought the roku 2 for my apartment because i wanted to use netflix in my living room on my tv. this product is amazing so i went out and bought roku 3 (and put the roku 2 in my bedroom) and hooked it up in our living room. cant say enough good stuff about it..picture quality is great! love the headphone jack too. well worth the money!

This is a great device for people who want to stop paying hefty cable prices. The combination of free and paid (but cheap) channels give you a large entertainment selection.

This is great for movie buffs but I thought I could access facebook like my pc no. I like my cable channels the way Roku cannot air them.

There is no better way to cut the cord from limited variety pay TV then to own a Roku. Couple this with the included Hulu Plus (monthly pricing) and you can no longer be denied quality programming at bargain basement prices. Besides ... who does not appreciate saving a bundle of money??

Compared to Roku 2 XS, the Roku 3 starts up faster, and channel navigation in general is much faster also (not sluggish at all).

the remote loses its connection with the device frequently. fortunately my smart phone is a back-up remote. Otherwise an incredible improvement over the first Roku.
