I want to completely replace my entertainment provider. I know this isn't a Roku issue but it still is a con for this product. I love this in every other way.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: More Live Streaming Neede

i had the earlier version with the Netflix button in my winter house. When i bought this Roku for my summer home i figured that i would pay the $20 more to get the upgraded version. For me it was a waste of money. I use the Roku primarily to watch movies and TV series. I liked having the Netflix button. The controls are a little more complicated than I need. My son and his wife are thrilled to be handed down this model as I order another Roku HD for me.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup

I watch 20+ hours of Netflix and another 10+ hours a week of HULU and it works perfectly. I do watch some of the other apps, but those two are the primary reason I bought it.

Small but very powerful

I have had a computer hooked up to my TV for a couple years using an open source media center product. The Amazon app I was using on the media center stopped working recently, so I started looking for a new way to watch Amazon Prime videos on my TV. I looked at a lot of alternatives, but settled on the ROKU 3 due to it's easy of use, compact design and the ability to be controlled by my Logitech remote (I hate multiple remotes). Once I started using the ROKU, I used it for more and more things. I use it for my personal media collection (movies, TV shows, personal videos, photographs, etc) as well as the content I stream from the internet (ie-Crackle, Hulu, YouTube, etc). I am at the point now that I really only use the PC as a file server for my personal media. I use ROKU for streaming all content to my TV. I don't watch cable at all. If the cable wasn't included in my monthly condo dues, I wouldn't even have a cable hookup. Buying the ROKU 3 was the best $99 I've ever spent. I'm a big fan.
