Really isn't much the Roku can't handle; I just needed something by which I could access Amazon Prime and was pleasantly surprised to see the multitude of other viewing opportunities. As I break away from the cable teat when my contract is up, I expect to get further value out of my Roku.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
I would recommend this to a friend!

Roku is so very easy to use. The wand has a unique way to attach teh head phones and listen. When the internet has a problem, it is easy to reboot the system to get it back on line. Our first time to stream and watch programing from the internet Roku gives us many options.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design

Not living up to the hype

I've had to manually reboot the system almost every time I use it. It sits next to my Apple TV which handles ' on and off' without issue.
Cons: Crashes

I absolutely love this device. I have 2 of them. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. Always works. Never crashes, hangs, or fails. Loads of content. If you add plex, netflix and hulu to your setup, you can pretty much cut the cable. The mobile app is awesome. Allows full control over the roku. Check out the respective app pages for all the details, but it's free and works great. There's no native upnp support. That was a downer, but by no means a deal breaker. Plex takes care of that quite well as a 3rd party solution. The remote is great, however, if you leave the headphones plugged in, you will find that you go through batteries about every 2 weeks. It's an annoyance, but if you don't keep em in, the battery will last quite a long time.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Easy installation, Attractive Design
Cons: No Dlnaupnp Support, No Native Upnp Support

Excellent Player with 2 Major Flaws

The player itself and its functionality are superior to anything else that is out there. However I have just returned mine and opted for a blu-ray player with streaming instead. After leaving Roku alone for a while it would go into sleep mode and the only way to start it up was to physically disconnect the power wire and reconnect it booting up the unit. Also once in sleep mode the only way to get the remote working again was to physically take the batteries out and put them back in again. This is unacceptable. Now I have a streaming player with addition of a blu-ray and for 15 dollars cheaper than the Roku. AND I don't have to reboot the machine and remote every time I want to use it.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

I purchased this product ONLY because it has HBO go installed on it, however, when I went through the cumbersome online setup I discovered that the wonderful provider I have for HBO, that being COMCAST does not allow for HBO go to be viewed via the Roku video stream device. For the price it cost and the use I have for it, I returned it for a refund and kept on using my NetGear NeoTV streaming device. IF YOU HAVE COMCAST AS THE PROVIDER FOR YOUR HBO...BUY SOMTHING CHEAPER....YOU WILL GET THE SAME SERVICE FROM IT.
Pros: Headphones In Remote, Simple Controls, Radio Frequency Remote
Cons: Difficult setup, Design Too Hip Modern, Online Setup Is A Drag
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bye bye cable

General comments - Love it. We eliminated cable TV by combining with an inexpensive subscription service. After we bought our first we added 2 more to power each TV in our home. Even after buying 3 Rokus we will save money over cable TV in under a year of use. I have recommended this to family, friends and coworkers. The only downside we've experienced is it can develop a memory lag in navigating after awhile of use. Putting in extra memory card helps, but it still develops a lag unless we occasionally reboot it.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls
Cons: Develops Low Memory Lag

I use this in my bedroom and did not have to get another cable box and pay monthly for it. Now I can watch my tv and drown out any noise from neighbors or traffic with the headphones!
Pros: So many channels, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, No Cable Box Needed, Love The Earphones
