Awesome upgrade from the original Roku

Use it for TV shows mostly, some movies. So much faster than the old Roku, and faster than the Apple TV (1080p version) as well. Some of the app interfaces aren't that great and aren't updated much, but overall the Roku 3 is pretty sweet.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Some App Design Not Great, Apps Not Updated Much

I now have two of them. Its cute. It works. It has allowed me to get rid of cable. It saved my marriage. What else can be saved. Being able to use the headphones from the remote when my wife goes to sleep is worth it if that's all it did, but it does much more.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls

Very happy overall with the Roku3 was a breeze to setup, and the picture quality is good. We use this on a TV where it would have taken a lot of effort to get a cable too.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup
Cons: Ocassional Reboots Needed

Cancelled our cable service!

We got the Roku when we cancelled our cable service. We were able to use the Plex app to download shows that we like and it make a super interface. The Roku works so much faster to stream videos than our BluRay player. The Roku is very responsive and works great. We love it!
Pros: Super easy to set up, Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, The Kids Love Angry Birds, Lots Of Great Apps, Simple Controls, Very responsive

We upgraded from an original Roku to the Roku 3. Some may think it makes no sense to do that since our original Roku worked well and we loved it. I was even hesitant to buy a new unit. No regrets. The new unit is much faster, better designed, allows us to use captioning and go back 7 seconds. Every thing seems to work smoother.

Make any TV a smart TV

I put an old tv in my room and dropped cable at the same time. The tv was hooked up to my PS3 so it had plenty of streaming options, but the PS3 stayed in my basement. The tv was just collecting dust until I thought of the perfect $100 solution...! Only bad thing, some times the remote will cease being connected and require a battery removal to reset. It has a reset button but it hasn't worked fir me yet. I've had the Roku 3 for six months and this has happened about 5 times, and once it connects it stays connected for that viewing time. Otherwise, it's flawless. On the plus side, the remote isn't RF so if you watch in bed like me it'll work from anywhere.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: Remote Control Connection
