This is a great product, and a worthy rival to Apple TV. What does Apple do better? The interface. It is superb, end of discussion. Roku 3? Better than any other, after Apple. I have both, I know. Roku offers many, many more "channels" which gives it the edge in that area, but Apple is adding more all the time. If you just want to stream Netflix, Vudu, HBO, ESPN, get an Apple TV, for much more, get a Roku 3. I love both. Apple TV is in the bedroom for movies, Roku in family room for Amazon, Fox News and International channels. Who needs cable? My biggest gripe with Roku is audio support through HDMI. It needs to get better. Netflix and Amazon use different Dobly encoding, and support for both via HMDI isn't what it should be. It's not a show-stopper at all, and I'm sure Roku will only get better. The Roku 3 is a superb streaming device, just a tad beneath Apple, IMHO

The Roku 3 is simple, ridiculously easy to set up (just plug it in) and it provides access to a wide varielty of visual entertainment with an easy-to-use interface. The only criticism I can come up with is the remote eats batteries, a lot. A rechargable remote with a charger stand would make it the perfect adjunct to any TV.
